I Bought a new to me, used 2007 1st gen. No Key Fob

As the title says, I bought a used 1st gen GT the car has pretty much everything in it feature wise and I am surprised that the car has no keyless entry / key fob. My question is, did the previous owner(s) loose the fobs or did it not come with them? Is there a way to tell and if it HAD them and is it possible to reprogram new ones?

Pretty sure the 1st gen GT came with Fobs. Car could have been a repo recovery and thus no keys/fobs or simply lost with all the keys at the dealership/used car lot.

You'll probably have to use a capable locksmith or the dealership to program new fobs as old keys/fobs should be removed from your car's system. You wouldn't want the previous owner or someone with the original keys/fob to start and drive your car.

Search this forum a little deeper and you'll find a thread discussing programming an extra fob and the pitfalls of not having them or an extra key programmed. There are steps listed how to program an additional key/fob but given you have none, this would not apply.

My first gen GT did not come with a fob, you had to purchase it separately. It was fifty dollars at that time.

My Used 2008 GS (lower model) came with Key Fobs (Standard black fob that has lock, unlock and alarm in that order. Same fob was used on my parents 2000 MPV). The seller likely lost them.

My new at the time 2007 GT prem. had 2 key fobs.

My 07 GT came with 2 fobs. Yours should have as well.

go somewhere like ebay, buy a fob for $10-$12. takes 30 seconds to program yourself

Thanks guys, based on everyone's responses I'm going to assume this car had a fob. How do you program them if you don't have one to program the other?

Keys need other keys. Fobs don't.
