This has never happened before, but I took my car out for the 3rd time today and when I started my car and it turned the ignition it started shaking from the engine bay and turned on very slowly, I turned it off then and started it again and the same thing happened.
Then on the 3rd try it started normally, no shaking no nothing...
finished running more errands and car started normally that day, jump to next morning, nothing, started normally.
Other than that, everything seems to run fine, no other shaking or vibrations during the ride, no check engine lights or anything.
could it have possibly been a one-off?
Any ideas?

The exact symptoms of a 'Purge Solenoid Valve' leak. Check how bad it is leaking, and if not bad, ignore it. It may cause a rare/ irregular hard start as you described and/or a CEL periodically. Will still pass emissions tests (In most cases). I've had a bad PSV going on 4 years now, no big deal.

I never had this problem when I have my PSV issue. I did have hard starts with longer cranks and a CEL but no steering issues/shaking.

He didn't say the steering is shaking...The shaking is from inconsistent fuel flow as the motor is trying to run, it runs rough...That is what a hard start means. If you leave the ignition on, it will eventually run normal, but just better to turn the ignition off and start again. Always starts and runs fine the second time.
ryan2.3 -Why don't you just clear the code? I haven't had a code in a while but I just clear it and its gone for months.

Just did some reading up on this here:

Q:
Is there any cause for concern if this has happened to me maybe 3-4 times over the last year? Nothing recently, and never any CELs associated with the hard starts. It usually only happens in spring/fall in cooler temperatures.
Ignore for now unless it becomes more frequent/throwing CELs?

Kiewan, as long as its not leaking bad I wouldn't worry about it. Just check under the hood behind the TB, if you see evidence of fuel leaking. A very small amount or just staining, it is not an issue then. Even if you get a CEL just scan and clear it. If you have to do DriveClean, just scan and clear before you go in. I've done so the last two DriveCleans and passed no problem.
I had my PSV changed out twice under warranty and once afterward, then it went bad again and I decided to leave it alone and just live with the irregular hard start.

i can clear it, it just comes back every 3 days. so i just leave it. I'll probably pop off to the junk yard to pull one off one of the 3's there when i have time. $150 for a new one to just make my light go away doesn't seem worth it
