Maybe I'm crazy, this is my first four doors in years. Is it normal for the rear door jams to get so filthy? The fronts seem fine.

I would bring that to the dealership and see if that's covered in the warranty. ;)
Seriously though, just take a microfibre cloth to it with some waterless wash or something and it should be fine.
Just wondering if your other cars didn't get dirty there or something?

There is no weather seal there so it will get dirty. Nothing wrong here.

Cool, good to know.
My cars for the past 5 years have been a civic sir and Volvo C30, neither of which had this. But they're also 2 door cars vs the 3 being a 4.
Hopefully this is the last of my stupid questions :|

Its all good. Anywhere there is no seal will get dirty. Some cars just have more area that is not sealed from the out side.

You sure there is no seal? You'd think there would be one on the door. Maybe, "if it does exist", the seal has been damaged or just out of place.
Anyways to the OP, Keeping the doors jams WELL waxed may help keep it cleaner.

Yes, the seal is on then inner part so that part where dirt is exposed to elements via small gap between door and body, which you would think does not get that dirty. Mine doesn't at least , but maybe he drives more via construction or country roads.

When you get the car washed. wipe all of the inner door jams. happens on my gen 2 hatch and sedan as well.
Yes it's normal.... Every time I wash my car I wipe down all the door jambs

LOL, I noticed a surprising layer of dust in the rear door jambs of my wife's brand-new 3 when it had maybe 40 km on the odometer. Looks like a dirt magnet by design :)
