2013 Mazda 3 , 35 000km

Randomly while driving the airbag light comes on for 10 seconds and goes off. Sometimes shorter sometimes longer but its never flashing and never shows when you start the car, only when your driving for about 15 minutes.

Can a shop diagnose this even with the airbag light off ? Are they able to tell with the SRS reader that the airbag threw fault codes or do they have to hope that it comes on while doing the diagnostic ?

Any good mechanic shop in the GTA with an SRS/Airbag reader ?

Is it the fault light in the dash or the occupancy light coming on? If you have some weight on the passenger seat the airbag occupancy light will show the airbag is off.

It's the actual airbag light on the dash and not the passenger occupancy ( that one works good )

Thank you

There should be a stored code.

There should be a stored code.

Connector Half Insertion Fault
Code: B2BCD

SAS control module is poorly connected or the connectors are bad. Checked the connectors they look fine . Probably need a new airbag control module.

I wonder if powertrain warranty is going to cover this?!

It wont be covered under powertrain.

Check with the dealer to see what the warranty is on safety equipment. When it comes to safety equipment never guess whats wrong with it. Get it checked properly.

Will do , called mazda relations , the lady told me that the airbag is covered but not the module , going to have to just visit the dealership.

Hmmm...Should be covered under SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM LIMITED WARRANTY. That is for 60 months/100,000 km. Says The following components are covered by this warranty:
Seat Belts and Related Components
Air Bag System

Take it to a Mazda dealer.

When you pull the connectors out, there are 2 little pins right near the locking tab on them, the problem is those may lose contact. They are not a great design, but I know how to carefully fix that light. Are you in the Halton region? I wouldn't have a problem fixing it for you if you are around my area?
