Hi guys, just want to share what I'm experiencing with my M3.
For those who are driving 3Rd gens 6MT, have you encountered some roughness when shifting gears? Is this normal? I was expecting a very smooth and flawless shifting since it's just a month old.

1-2 is a difficult shift due to a short period of rev holding. Easiest way is to keep the clutch depressed for a second or two before shifting to let the rpm's drop and match.
Upshifting after that requires a feather of gas to be smooth.
You need to be patient when rev matching for downshifts, it can take a moment to get that extra 1-2k rpm needed.
But lord almighty I know that feel buddy. It's a weird shifter!

Even from a standstill? Like from neutral to 1st. I just feel like it's kinda odd

Slip it like you're laying pipe. This car seems to reward smooth, gradual clutch movements. She doesn't like it hard or sudden.

I have a 2012 skyactiv, so same tranny. I find 1-2 yeah you have to be slow and gentle, but every shift from that you can just let the clutch out pretty fast and the synchros make it nice and smooth. Just my 2 cents

For sure, I was mostly referring to 1st and 2nd. 3-6 are lovely.
