I had a daytime light burnt and when I changed halogen H8 noticed there is a burn hole into the HID area. I am aware of the 2010's having a recall for fogging but cannot find anything about this. I can't be the only one...
I unplugged them for now and will try to run some lower wattage (cooler) LED bulbs when I replace them as halogens only come in 35 wattage.

Quite common. It's a design fault from factory. Surprised you don't have the white smoked lens from the bowl melting.
Best is to use an led to reduce further damage. Other than that there's no repair without opening it and painting it to help hide.

Call a Mazda dealer with your VIN number and ask if you car is covered for SSP91.
