Just got this code today, does this mean I need to replace my upstream o2 sensor, I have a 07 Mazda 3 sedan. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170329/c5bcd71dad42bc2cff707736a3465589.jpg

Maybe. Another possibility: Look at the wire that runs from the O2 sensor up to the connector on the passenger side of the engine. The wire crosses over a bracket (can't recall what it is for). Since the wire hits the bracket it can chafe, wear through, and short out to the bracket. Fix is to tape up the wire and bend the bracket so it doesn't it the wire any more. (If the wire is broken or the there is a short between inner wires you'll need to fix that or replace the O2 sensor).

Yeah I've checked, removed the sleeve over it, it's all good, there's 12v going to it, but no resistance on the sensor at all. I tried what this photo days but I went and ordered a new sensor from rock auto after. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170330/61bdc7a62a6f0231eb27f718c5c7881a.jpg

It also says online that the most common cause of the code is a faulty sensor. But I can't complain, first one gone bad after 170k

Good time to replace them, and check the wiring as well just to be sure.

That's the plan as of now. The wiring looks good.
