I apologize if this has been covered somewhere but I looked around at the stickys and couldn't find the info. I would like to use one oil for both our vehicles if can and the truck uses 5W-30. Would it be at all detrimental to use the one heavier grade? The car is way past warranty at 2006 and I expect the only deficit is that it might cost me a few MPG at worst. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Monkey

You should have no problem with a 5w30 and actually for a higher mileage vehicle it'll probably quiet the engine down a bit. I have been using 0w30 for years now, 300k on her and no issues so far.
