Hello, just picked up our 2010 Mazda 3 hatchback tonight. Just getting used to it, and noticed that the drivers door will not lock using the fob. All the other doors do lock with the fob, and all doors unlock. is this normal? Any idea why just one door will not lock with the fob?

I think this should be posted in the Problems with the Mazda3 section - http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?77-Problems-with-the-Mazda3
If you use the door lock on the actual driver's side door (not the remote), does the driver's side door lock? If not, then sounds like an issue with the door lock solenoid.

If it momentarily locks, then unlocks on its own, then you have to replace the driver's door lock/striker module (it's all electromechanical and provides locking feedback to the body computer). I had to replace it in my 2010 a few years after purchase.

are you inside the car when you try locking the doors?

No, I would be standing outside the door while trying to lock it.

yes inside button works, locking by key works, just not by key fob.

I think this is the problem. took the panel off and traced everything to this module. Will call the dealer tomorrow.
I could not get it off completely, only loose. Do you happen to have disassembly instructions? some thing is still holding it in place.
