Would this warrant a repair?

Hi all,

Just found this razor blade in my tire tonight, pulled it out with a plier, put soapy water over it, seems like.
By the orientation it looked like it went in sideways as opposed perpendicular. Size is 225/40/18

Would it still require a patch in case it was cut real close and potential pop in the future?

Yikes, that was in way deeper than I expected. Not sure how I feel about it. It's not leaking, but it's on the shoulder of the tire and not sure if it's made it weaker when heat / stress builds. I don't think that's a repairable location anyways, but could be wrong.

Any air bubbles when you put soapy water? Did you mark the spot? Better to have a tire specialist take a look...last thing you want is a popped tire going 100km on the highway....Now that's gonna cost ya.

No bubble with soapy water, and yeah ive marked the spot. Do you know where i can find the tire experts? Pretty much any decent tire shops will do right?

On a side note, i just started to notice these tires pick up way more metal debris than what i had when i had hankook v12, could it be because the PSS are softer?

If the blade went it perpendicular to the tread you should be okay, it'll be in the tread that would normally wear away.

PSS's have different rubber on the inside and outside of the tire, so yes, at least part of them are probably softer than the Hanook's. I managed to wear my last set down to the cords on the inner edge within two seasons of driving. I had an alignment done and dropped the tire pressure a couple of pounds, hopefully I'll get more life out the set I put on this year.

yeah, I actually got a new tire today, just for peace of mind. And also, probably just going for something cheaper next time, maybe hankook v12, lesson learnt =(
