I have 8 year old Mazda 3 with 150K. The car runs like the day I bought it.

The dealer says for my non-skyactive Nazda 3, auto transmission fluid should be drained and filled at 60K. Also, according to the dealer, power steering fluid need not be replaced at all. I replaced the brake oil and trans. oil few years ago but is it necessary to change them at all?

The Mazda manual is silent on auto transmission fluid and states only to inspect brake fluid and power steering fluid. Only for Mexico, brake fluid needs to be changed every 2 years. Since the manual does not recommend transmission, brake fluid, power steering changes, can I assume they are unnecessary?

No problem in changing them all. I did my PS fluid at 100,000 and now I'm at 270,000 with no issues. Brake fluid is a bit of a different story, it's very important to change it every few years as it picks up water and can become less effective. If it's not clear anymore and turning black, change it.

Thanks for the info. I think I may just need to do this.

Also, is it just me or is the brake fluid reservoir hard to read?

Yeah, a little bit. That probably means your fluid isn't too dark then. Try shining a flashlight behind it!
