Hey folks,

I've run into a bit of a pickle, I have lost my wheel lock key and am wondering if anybody has used the socket over the lug nut method of removing the lug nut and what socket size they used. I should add these are Mcgard tuner style locks that don't appear to have the free spinning ring around the outside of it. I don't have the key number as I threw out the original packaging upon receiving the lockers 4 years ago. Ive also contacted Mcgard and they are sending me the key they think it is but they aren't 100% sure its the correct one.

Thanks in advance,

Joel

Able to send a picture of the style? If its the regular looking Mazda one, you can use a twist socket set. Basically hammers on, and locks into the metal on the side.

I have this set at work, and it works pretty well. Especially for how much use it gets.

All you do is overtighten the other nuts so you take the tension from the Lock nut. Then grab the lock nut with a vice grip and untighten. Thats how crooks steel wheels that have a secure lock nut. lol

Same thing happened to me and I took it to my mechanic and he got them off pretty quickly using a specialized tool that sounds like what Reddie1337 mentioned.
