Are Mazda3 and Mazda5 TCM compatible?

I have 2008 Mazda3 that began to show symptoms of failing TCM (U0101 code, CEL and AT lights) were on. The issue went away - but it is question of time when it completely fails. My current TCM part # is l34t-18-9e1c. I managed to find one from Mazda5, (l39c-18-9e1b). Common sense suggests they may be compatible with one from Mazda5 being newer firmware. However I still have concerns about the functionality - would anybody know if they are compatible?
