Over the last week my 2012 has developed a weird issue. A few times as Ive been driving the warning lights have all come on, and my display screen has read “hello” with the little chime playing you hear when you first turn on the car. I initially thought the car was stalling out on me, but couldn’t pin point what the issue was, until yesterday.

Power steering light came on when I was on the highway. By the time I got off at the next exit, the power steering had restored itself... been working fine since but I’m sure this will come back. From everyone’s experience or knowledge, are you thinking this is an issue with the power steering pump, or something else? My understanding is the pump is a common issue but is easy to replace, so hoping it’s just that and not something electrical or the rack. Thanks

I would suggest it may be as simple as your battery or a loose connection in the battery/charging system. I haven't heard of many issues with power steering otherwise. All the lights coming on is a hint to the issue.

Battery is only a year old but I’ll double check connections this evening. Would be nice if that’s the problem

my guess is the ignition switch. i've experienced these symptoms while driving in my 07'... power steering cut out, dashlights going wonky, car stalling while in motion, etc.
