Hey all,
Been a while since I've been around these parts. It's been a decade since my Mazda3 has been gone. How's everyone doing? Anyone still around from the old days (2010-2013ish)?
Hope everyone's staying well and healthy!

I think the lack of a current MS3 to move up to has a lot to do with that.

I test drove a 2011 GT and 2014 GT with auto transmission while looking for a used car for my wife. Not even close to my 2006 GT with manual transmission. I definitely regret trading in my 2012 Charger SRT, but those two 2011 and 2014 Mazda3s I drove made me appreciate a lot more the way my current 2017 CX-5 GT drives and handles. We eventually went with a 2015 Honda Fit EX, which for me, drives totally like an A to B car. Maybe I'll get another Mazda if the next gen actually has decent power and brings back the zoom zoom feeling.

im still here. even though i might be moving up from the mazda in the next week or so. ive been working for Hyundai for about 7 years now. and there a super clean driven by old people 2013 sonata 2.0T with 140 000 km on it and its had every service and then some done to it for almost a wash what i would sell mine for. so thinking to move up to something a bit bigger. leather seats pano roof. and 100,000 km less then the 3. other wise my cars still driving strong and hauls ass. im going to miss it for sure.

Thought I'd install tapatalk and randomly check in :)
Still got the MS3. Doing my 2nd engine rebuild. This time will be a lot better and I'm doing the assembly myself this time around with help from friends.
Pulled the engine myself which was a first for me. Pretty good for someone who 6 years ago barely knew how to use jack stands...
Engine at the machine shop and hopefully coming home this week to start assembly. Not looking to do anything crazy just a basic forged engine build maxing out the stock injectors on the street and tuning for 320-330whp for the track.

I wish i had the space to able to lift and plug an engine or work the suspension.
I am surprised you can pull 330whp from stock injectors.
I need to put mine on a dyno ...i should be close to 200whp (2.0L NA) with the lighter forged
and flowed head, lighter balanced crank and better rod bearings ...it all add to a better performing solid engine .
Dang,,,i finally put in the 4LB lithium battery too. I should be sitting just under 2600 lbs.
She certainly sounds different too. Hurry up and build that monster i need a fast mazda to chase..

You don't need that much space really. Small 2 Bay garage on a 36 foot lot. Height only 9 ft maybe.
Stock injectors on MS3 are 370-380 whp. Running 330 is actually a detune.
Currently 3000 lbs on 1/3rd tank.

Well, very odd day... I pulled out the PRM air filter and put the stock air box back in. The PRM was installed around April 2009, so over 12 years. I still had all the parts, bolts & push-pins. And I'm pretty sure the air filter that is in the airbox is the one that came with the car!

Holy! I find myself stumbling back to this forum after so many years. Just had an urge to see what was up.
I actually just gave up my 2008 hatch a few months back to my nephew. Still in great shape with 180,000 km, but felt it would be worth a lot more to my nephew who could put sometime in to her. We only really have a need for one car with all thats been going on. Nice to see whats a familiar names, maybe i'll lurk around a bit more.

Yea. Likely at least partially an issue related to my not finishing the upgrade to https, and second social media - facebook groups, Instagram.
After 15 years and 362,000km I finally parted ways with my Mazda, I didn’t want to buy I figured $2000 was better then waiting another year and it ends up in the scrap yard lol

aris Well that's sad, thought you'd keep her right to the end. Atleast you got your moneys worth out of her and some change back.
My 3 is still running great and still looks awesome. I'm @395k now. Infact I just updated my audio system, that's how confident I am in her.
I still try to drive her daily (weather permitting) since I don't work anymore. She doesn't see much rain or snow anymore either, lol.
Aiming for 400k+ next.

I bought a Ram 4 years ago, I decided to sell it and get something decent for it, the rust was getting bad on it, I was definitely sad when it drove away after owning it for 15 years.

that’s awesome, the rust was getting bad on mine and me owning two vehicles didn’t make sense, I bought a Ram 4 years ago and still kept my car but after I stopped krowning it 4 years ago the rust has gotten really bad so it was time, but it was definitely sad seen my car leave with its new owner after 15 years of owning it.

GT sedan AWD turbo. I did consider a more basic trim level, especially as I now drive less (2 days a week WFH) but I do want to enjoy it. I'm not quite ready for a basic Corrolla yet!

Nice.
I would consider the AWD turbo myself if it offered a standard transmission.

Common gripe about the turbo! I came across an explanation on why from Dave Coleman. Unlike a regular turbo engine the torque of the Skyactiv turbo peaks at relatively low RPM and then drops off. That makes spirited driving with a manual transmission a miserable experience. Winding the engine up to the redline and then up-shifting just doesn't really suit the Skyactive turbo engine.
And in my world the automatic keeps my wife happy.... No manual => I don't have to explain why I bought yet another car she can't drive. :D

I have the CX-30 GT Turbo. The torque fells pretty great in normal driving, if you're interested in the turbo 3 you should take a test drive of one. That's what led me to buy this thing (I'm too tall to fit in the current 3 because of the low roof line but I still think it's a great car).
