aren\'t PIAAs about $100 a pop? my friend bought a pair for his Solara and they burned out a week after the 1 yr warranty was up!! i\'d say save up enough to get true HIDs. besides you will SEE the difference

i saw a civic guy on the street the other night and his were pure white (no blue/yellow at all...weird) and bright (almost hid annoying), and i knew they werent hid\'s so i asked him and he just said that he got it off some asian place for 30 bucks

so anyone know of any asian store... :p lol crap y cant ppl remember these things...

my friend has a pair of piaa headlights.
they don\'t seem much brighter than my 20$ bulbs if not the same.
for 100 a pair, i don\'t reali think they are worth the money.

I agree with majic on this one... save your money for a HID kit. If you REALLY want something a little better than stck, go with the silverstars or Night hawks... they are brighter than stock. Silverstars have a whitish look while the nighthawks have a stock look but much brighter. I\'ve never used the Nighthawks on my car but tried them on my dads car and did notice a difference. The silverstars are pretty good for the money if you want that HID look but they have a life expectancy of 12-14 months.

depends where you buy, but if you buy xtec or ProLumen kits you get lifetime warranty so at MOST it\'ll cost you as much as it would be to get them shipped. sometimes you\'d have to put down a deposit for teh new bulbs and get it refunded later so you\'d lose/gain on the exchange rates.

EDIT: come to think of it, are bulbs covered under this warranty? \'blow out/burn out\' wouln\'t that just mean regular usage and that\'s just the course of life and not a manufacturing defect? i dunno

I just sent an email to Xtec and asked the above question... also to find out the life expectancy of the bulbs. I\'ll let you guys knoow.

From what I have heard, the bulbs last 4 tims longer than halogens...

nice Ex-Rolla.. i\'m sure a lot of poeple would be interested in knowing that

just to clarify, for xtec the warranty is lifetime with the MANUFACTURER, whereas the ProLumen is only 1yr BUT Matt (umnitza) provides lifetime warranty on ProLumen products.

That is part of what scared me off of them also. Who is to say that Matt will be selling them in a few years? Look how long his deal with Xtec lasted. And, the local warrenty at Lockdown I liked a lot :)

i know.. i bought it before the whole fiasco though (also Lockdown didn\'t carry them at the time).. plus Matt has exclusive distributor rights for ProLumen in NA (there might be another person in Miami from what i hear) anyway.. worse comes to worst, it\'d get \'substitute\' bulbs... lets just hope i don\'t have to go through warranty ;)

Hey Guys, here is the question i asked

\" I understand that the bulbs and ballasts are warranted for life, but what if the bulbs burns out under normal use… is that also covered? And what is the usual life expectancy of the bulbs?\"

and here is the answer

\"Yes, they are covered. Life should be about 7 years or more.\"
