From reading alot of post i hear that Markham mazda sucks from alot of ppl...
i\'m here to say that markham mazda isn\'t so bad, well on the sales side that is.

i just went to purchase my mazda3 yesturday from markham mazda and it went really smoothly with no problems at all. but i\'ve yet to pick up my car, it\'s comming in next friday.

the salesman who help me (howard) was understanding quick to the point and was always on topic ofcourse he tried to sell me the car for it\'s full price ofcourse as anysales man would do but i\'ve done my hwk and after i showed him what i researched he knew there was no battling left and was very generous and kind to take my offer. overall i have to say markham mazda isn\'t as bad as what most people tend to say.

Service there sucks. Their Courtesy Drivers have no idea where to go! They leave greasy hand prints all over your car (Mine had them on the roof liner). Haven\'t gone back since the first 8000km checkup.

Sales is fine...service is bad.

You can service your car at any dealer of your choice, you do not have to stick to Markham.

Actually, you can service your vehicle anywhere you please, it does not have to be at a Mazda Dealer....just make sure you keep all records, for warranty purposes and follow the manual service schedule.

Note; I would only recommend this if you have a place that you trust and know are good.

Well if you want to get technical than I think you must also use Mazda genuine parts if you are gonna service it somewhere else and still be covered under warranty.

Sorry I was not getting technical, just alot of people believe they are OBLIGATED to go to the Dealer for service to keep the warranty valid when it is not neccessary and yes I would assume that everyone would insist on genuine Mazda parts.Unless of course your upgrading.:)

I heard a rumour that Markham Mazda completely overhauled their service department, firing all the service managers and hiring new staff. (My wife was told this by a co-worker who was very unhappy with their service and was on the verge of complaining to Mazda Canada when she found out).

Perhaps some justice?

BTW, I was NOT HAPPY with my sales experience there. Salesman (Ray) lied to me several times and they tried to charge the $925 freight twice. They knew I was unhappy and even gave Mazda Canada my wrong address so I wouldn\'t get any surveys in the mail!! (This I found out in a conversation with Mazda Canada). Needless to say, I have not and will not service my car there.

I got my car from Jason Chen, he was great I got a really good deal. I havn\'t had service with them yet, I\'ll go back to them every 4 months to get oil change I\'ll see how that goes.

hey all,
what kind of servicing do mazda dealerships offer?

because i know i can do oil changes & brakes myself and i think it would better that way since i know i wouldn\'t do a lousy/messy job

If you change oil yourself your warranty would be voided.

omg that is so lame! are u serious? it sounds like mazda would do just about anything to try to get ppl\'s warrenty voided
i\'m lowering my car this comming week i bet my warrenty is going to be voided anyways :P

your warrenty won\'t be voided if you using Mazda\'s parts when DIY or by outside mechanics. but if somethings wrong, they still blame you not using Mazda\'s dealers, read this week Star\'s wheel section, Hyundai was blaming the owner for not using dealer\'s maintainance.

Not neccesarily true, it would probably only be voided if something goes wrong while you were doing your own oil change like stripping the pan when tightening the drain bolt. Other than that your fine. I\'ve worked at dealers for a long time and never once have I seen any customer refused b/c they changed their own oil.

I really don\'t know how they stay in business...

lol.. I bought my 3 from Markham Mazda cause it was the best deal I could get, I haven\'t had the car serviced yet cause I\'ve only had it for 2 months time but I highly doubt I will be bringing it back to where I bought it for service.

I had bought 2 new cars from Markham Mazda, however; I\'ve never went back there for service once. I would have said their sales were not bad, decent price and reasonable attitude. Yet I am going in their service department on Tues., coz eversince I bought the 3, the A/C seems not working properly (being inspected by another manchanic), so for the warranty purpose, I am going back there for a little work on that.......Now I am kind of skeptical to turn it my car since I\'ve read the story, worring if they would they that problem even worse or messed something else on my car......:(

But you can take your car to any Mazda dealership for warranty work, not just the one you bought it from.

Yeah, Markham Mazda service is really crappy. Got my fuel pump replaced today (under warranty of course) and they broke my rear sits\' plastic holders when taking the fuel tank out. WTF??? I just did my 8000km service recently and will never go there again. I heard that Gyro Mazda\'s service is pretty good according to the tinting place I went to. Is that true?

I bought a mazda6 and a mazda3 there, I have dealed with markham mazda on all the warranty issues, most of the time r can not duplicate problem, or it is normal, not even once I am satisfied. The service department were serving impolitely and careless, also the service guy(eric) is just ridiculous foolish. I am not willing to buy a mazda in my life anymore after visited their service department.

Long story short, the first time I go there was the CD doesn't eject from the cd player, they blamed on the homemade burned CD caused the cd player not funtion properly, replaced under warranty at the end, but took all my CD for inspection and never return back to me. The second time was the engine mount cracked and heat seat doesn't heat. made a appointment on the first time, after I arrived, the computer didin't come up with a appointment schdualed(wasted my time). The second appointment, again, they do not have sufficient time for both jobs, end up replaced the mount only(took 2 hours). The third appointment, took more than 2 days to replace the heat seat cusion, why? they mixed up my car with others and didn't tell me the car is done and is ready for me to pick it up on the 1st day.

I purchased a 2006 Model at the end of 2005 from Ray as well and he wasn't as truthfull as well. Certainly there is alot of mis-representation that goes on in sales but in this case pretty much bold face lies.

Somethings that I wanted he said I could get, then afterwards when the sale was finalized he said it wasn't available for the sedan and told me to pick something else (always of lesser value). So i asked for a refund on the component and he said he would send the cheque. I've asked several times over the last year for the money and at this point i've given up.

The sales was perfect. THE ONLY REASON I bought a mazda was because of the great treatment during the sales cycle as opposed to how all the Toyota dealers treated me like trash. Afterwards i've had alot of problems with them and sub-par treatment by the service department.

I will not willing ever set foot in that place to service my car if at all possible.

It's really a shame so many people still go to MM. If everyone just did a little bit of homework online they would quickly realize they are one of the dealerships in the GTA to avoid.

Funny you should say that. When I went out looking for a car (before we got our 3), I went to a Toyota dealership in Richmond Hill (Yonge and 7).

I got the feeling that the salesman didn't want to make the sale. He was so anxious to get rid of me so he could get back to doing whatever he was doing before I showed up that he practically threw me out of the dealership on my ears. I will never buy a Toyota.

Thats why i rather drive 35 mins to MOT instead of 5 mins from my house to markham mazda to get my tranny replaced.

Nothing I could do. I didn't get an evil vibes when I walked through the door and i felt really really good after seeing the car, doing a test drive. Haggling over price, everything.

As for the Toyota dealers? I WANTED to buy a corolla. I had the money, it's like they just wouldn't become serious and treat me properly. Next time i'm putting on a fake beard.

Next time i'm putting on a fake beard.

Thats pretty sad..

I can't believe that kinda stuff still goes on.

My favourite story is one of my clients (female) was asking about the side air bags on a 2005, and the salesperson (at another dealership) replied "No, but look at the size of the glove box and you get a mirror on both sides so applying your makeup should be easy!"

Yikes...
