Hi guys, there are a lot of threads on HIDs but I haven\\\'t seen any in regards to the optional xenon lamps that are available in the US cars.

Does anyone know what brand of HID Mazda is using in their xenon option upgrade?

Can these parts can be ordered from a Mazda dealership and does it make any difference in terms of warranty when compared to the aftermarket parts you are ordering from third parties?

Thanks

Not sure of the brand.
If you purchase the OEM HID kit, and have Mazda install it, it will be under warrenty. Question is, are you willing to pay HUGE money?

I think it was posted that all the HID parts ran like $700US or more from the dealer. I could be wrong here. and then a dealer will charge a few hours labour. So if you leave paying $1500, it wouldnt surprise me.

You are much better off to pick a kit aftermarket and install :)

Hope this helps

The Actual projector is slightly different too. You will probably need new housings to have a proper fit. (unless you swap out projectors)

Anyone know exactly how much the OEM hid kit is, and is it avaliable in Canada?

I dont know why you would pay 3-5x more for an OEM kit, but the answer is no. This was not an option in Canada, so you can\'t just walk in and buy it. You can piece it together from the States (as I dont think they sell a \"kit\" either), but cost of kit + shipping + install etc will be HEFTY!:D

The last time i called them and inquired about it they told me the following:
New light housings = 800$
New light wiring harness+all necesary wiring = 700$
bulbs = 100$
installation (apparently 6 hours) = 500$
Total= 2100$ plus taxes
THESE ARE APPROXIMITE PRICES DONT REMEMBER 100% BUT SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES.

Our projectors are slightly different... but they do the trick. There is still a decent cut off line and any additional glare, even with our Canadian OEM projectors, is quite low.

Better than having a concave vertex headlight...
