How to: Use the Mazda paint pen (pics)
This weekend, I had the overwhelming joy of trying to touch up some long scratches on my car. I purchased a 16W paint pen (Black Mica), and was happy that I was finally going to fix up the scratches that bothered me so much.
I decided to write up this little how-to about how to properly use the paint pen:
1. Find the paint pen. Notice you get your colour, plus the clear coat for once the paint has dried.

2. Place the paint pen in the garbage. Apply more force depending on level of frustration.

3. Here is a picture of what the pen looks like in the garbage.

4. Find something that works a lot better.

Hope this helps!

:chuckle I VOTE FOR STICKY!
The blurriness of the second picture just adds to the action at hand.

Thanks for the help. I just bought a pen and was getting ready to use it. Now I'm pretty confident I will do a good job.

Yeah, it should be pretty easy now that there is a handy guide. Hard to mess up now IMO.

so did I, had to sand it down afterwards because it was all blotchy ... piece of crap ... has taken a couple of polishes to to get it smoothed out again after the sanding ... but still didn't fill the chips very well ... PIECE OF CRAP!!

I've got 2 chips right above the driver's door handle. Oh yes, 401 West to Kitchener sucks. It's been half a year and they STILL haven't repaved the pavement after they ripped it up :complain.
Besides the paint pen what else can I do?

Re: How to: Use the Mazda paint pen (pics)
Sorry, I'm a little confused and perhaps dense, but do you buy the garbage bags BEFORE or AFTER the paint pen??

Re: How to: Use the Mazda paint pen (pics)
Love the pics pure jokes! :chuckle And I actually was planning on getting one of these but the pics helped it all!

Re: How to: Use the Mazda paint pen (pics)
LOL.. that was classic..
although, I used it on my car cause it had many horrible stone chips.. i'd use it, then use the clear, waited a day, then polished all the marks by hand.. it came out pretty good, you can't see unless your looking right at the spots..
its better right now than spending big $$$ to have it painted..
I'll hold out till next spring to have the front clip of the car re-painted..

Re: How to: Use the Mazda paint pen (pics)
D'oh!! bought one of those pens from my dealer a while back...don't have any chips on my car yet (and hopefully it will stay that way LOL!) but now I am concerned about using that thing if I ever have to!
I am thinking of getting the Clear Bra applied to the front of my car so that should help avoid the worst of the chips (I hope) :-(
