Changed rear brakes, need HELP!!

Hi guys, new to this forum... I just changed my rear pads and rotors tonight and the tires will NOT turn?? I took the calipers and pads off three times looking for something causing this and can't find anything. Before I put the tire on, I am able to spin the hub, but as soon as I tighten the tire it will not budge. I did the self adjusting thing by stepping on brake pedal a few times, then using the ebrake.. I am wondering if they gave me wrong pads or something?? Anyone have any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

that sounds really odd that it spins when the tires off but not when the tires on... are u sure u got the right sized rotors? some 3s.. i believe the 2.3L has bigger rotors than the 2.0L.. and have u tried actually driving it?

Wrong size rotors wouldn't have fit... he wouldn't have been able to bolt the calipers back on.

Put the wheel on with only a couple of nuts loosely tightend. Try to spin the wheel. You will likely hear scraping.. follow your ears to the scraping sound to see what is interfering.

how did you compress the calipers?

It happens because the rotor presses on the inner pad. Tight the rotor without wheel and look what going there. Caliper must have a place to travel inside.

that should not make a difference as you should still be able to turn the wheel, but you will here a grinding noise because the pad will be dragging alongside the rotor. It should be able to turn stil,l aslong as you are not holding the brakes and trying to turn at the same time. Another alternative would be seized calipers.

Thanks for your replies guys... It turned out that it WAS the wrong rotors they gave me!! Funny thing is they still bolted on fine and there was no problem getting calipers and pads on and bolted on with the bigger rotors... I guess I learned my lesson to check new parts with the old ones to make sure they are the same.. Just figured since they bolted on fine that they were the right ones.. A 5 minute swap of rotors and put back together and everything is fine!! Thanks again.
