Bought A New Used 2010 Mazda3
Long time lurker, first time poster...
I just bought a used 2010 Mazda 3 GX from a dealer that picked it up from a car rental company. I am happy with my purchase (especially at the price), except there are a few questions I have as this is actually my first car:
1. It's a little dirty on the inside - Is there a good detailing company downtown Toronto? I'd like them to shampoo the seats, etc. I've searched around and can't find one that is highly recommended.
2. How would I go about fixing a cigarette burn on a rear passenger seat? The hole is about the size of a penny.
3. While I bought the GX, I really did want a GS or GT so I'd like to do a few upgrades. The most important is keyless entry. I've heard people say don't go to Canadian Tire, so where should I go? I don't really need an alarm or remote start, just something to help me remember to lock the doors.
Thanks for all your help!

1. No idea
2. I think you'd have to reupholster the entire rear part (top or bottom, whichever one it is)
3. I think dealers sell it for 350 when you buy a new GX, try there I suppose.
Welcome to the club.

1) I use Autogroom downtown. Their work is very good. There are several downtown locations, including the parking lot of the Eaton Centre. When you call, tell Crystal that Thomas from the Rogers campus referred you.
2) Price out a new rear seat cover (you should be able to get the upholstery alone) ...dealer, aftermarket, ebay are all good places to start.
3) DO NOT go to the dealer for keyless. Check out a sponsor like Audio Heaven. They usually have deals which will include alarm and keyless if you like.
And Congrats! :thumbsup

Welcome Abroad! I'd try Fibrenew for the seat - they should be able to repair that. I've seen their work and they do some pretty amazing things. As far as the other stuff, you've already got some good suggestions above.

The problem I have in buying a rental car is if it was in an accident it will not show up on a Car Fax or Car Proof report as car rentals do their own body repairs, they don't go through their insurance, in turn no records. Have it checked out by a body shop to look for any damage from a accident, if it was in an accident in the first place they will be able to tell.
Good luck.
