CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
Hi guys. i was driving on the highway today and noticed thick smoke from my exhaust. a little later the engine started to shake and felt like it was going to give out plus the same smoke, then the check engine light came on. i called my mech and he said just put in a higher grade gasoline, i did and the CEL light went off but the engine still shakes with exhaust smoke when u accelerate past about 100kph on the highway. can anyone help with this PLZ?? btw i only have like 30K (AT trans 2.0 sedan) thanks a lot!
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
30k means you're still under warranty... take it to the dealer before you break something majorly! blue smoke = burning oil
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
I think about broken engine mount and popped out breathing hose. Don’t risk by the engine,
bring it to the dealer. CEL code is still stored there. And do check of the engine oil level constantly.
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
mazda roadside assistance can tow your car to the dealer free of charge
why chance it?
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
yeah take it to the dealer ASAP
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
Get that Sh.. checked out dude!
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
thanks for all the suggestions guys. first tho the car is not under warranty anymore :( second is i (stupidly) cleared the ECU (disconnected the battery for some time), so i'm wondering if mazda could still diagnose the problem without the codes, or would i just be wasting my time and money if i took it to them?
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
how can a 2008 with only 30k be out of warranty? it doesn't matter if you got the car new or used! it stays with the car, not the original owner!
take it in to a GOOD dealer (plenty talked about here) and they'll figure it out
Re: CEL and thick bluish smoke when accelerating
Main information for dealer is recorded in “freeze frame”, which being stored a pretty big number of full driving cycles, even if battery was disconnected. The CEL + bluish smoke,
something speaks to me that there is an air leak and wrong pressure inside of the crankcase.
It’s never too expensive to check when 30k engine starts to burn oil.
