Tein basic coil overs

i have found a good deal on 1 summer old tein basic coils they are not rusted leaking or seized. is what i am wondering is 1 will i rub with 17s with stock offset and 215 50 zr17s. i need quick reply and unfortunately don't have time to look all over. will i need a camber kit running a 1.5 or 2 inch drop all around? also my car is an 04 with 140,000 kms and these will obviously be alot stiffer based on the no dampening adjustments does anyone have experience with this will i end up regretting this situation in the long run will i be damaging other parts of the suspension ie bushings or seals by the stiffer ride. i really appreciate the help thanks in advance!

i have tein basics installed on my ride..

you won't rub since the stock size for 17's is 17x7. if your going for a 1.5-2" drop you definitely need a camber kit.

I wish i didnt buy tein basics.

1.they dont go low enough
2.adjusting height changes your spring rate.
3. Macpherson front strut cars like ours get ALOT of camber under load, and the teins have no camber adjustment.
4.no dampening adjustment
5.they just stopped making the basic and replaced it with some updated version.


All in all, if i were rebuying ide go with bc or possibly the new yellowspeed's.

Ide consider hks hipermax but i dont think there would be any reason to get those over the other 2.

Agreed with all the below. Even though i dont have tein basics coils but i've read enough that they stink. :chuckle

how low do you want to go..i can have my front end hitting the ground at the lowest height..

well obviously..all coil overs are like that...

if a person is not tracking the car...why is front camber necessary?

They are basics what you expect from an entry level coil over system :loco

ok and what's your point..clearly these coilovers do not meet your needs so you pretty much talk smack about then as if they are the shittiest coilovers out there. To me all coilover system do the same thing which having adjustable ride height and stiffening the ride comfort. All the extra stuff such as dampening and front camber adjustment is all for people who know what they are doing..like really???

how long have you had these coil overs in for?

My BC's height adjusts without changing the spring rate. The entire shock is threaded into the housing.

A little over a year and driven 50 000kms on them.

Not leaking,no problems, but i will be upgrading in the future.
