2012 - H11 HID install questions/tips?
I've called a couple of places for installs and I've come to the assumption that some brands of HIDs (the cheaper ones) require a 'capacitor' to prevent flickering?
Does anyone know which brands are good and better yet which ones I should avoid?
Or does anyone have a connection/referral for quality work?
Thanks

This is what I went with... comes with a relay harness for battery connection. I've yet to see any flickering with them.

if you want to do a clean install (ie. tidy up wires, zip-tie n hide wire looms, ballasts etc.) about a 7... just as easy but requires a bit more thought and planning before you hook everything up is all
If you do anything, do this;
Go to a bike shop and ask them for a few spare mountain bike inner tubes they don't need..before you do the install, cut em into approx 6" lengths or longer....then...when your making the connections, slide one end over a wire, make the connection, slide the section of inner tube over the plug connection and ziptie each end like a sausage. That will waterproof the plugs and keep any dampness out and prevent misfires... I have a few other tips I can give ya but I'm tired n too lazy right now but if you hit me up in a pm, I'll give ya a few more ;)
Re: 2012 - H11 HID install questions/tips?
The relay is 99% of the time only required for 1st gen's.
HID's for 2010+ should be direct plug and play.

If you meant the direct plug&play, no need to buy the HID KID? Just HID bulbs and replace?

You need the kit. Bulbs, Balasts, and if your going for 55W, you need a relay kit.
Get the Morimoto. 35W is plenty (without harness)

2nd gen headlights and fogs plug and play
1st gen fogs plug and play headlights need either a relay or a capaciter
