Worth IT To Buy Apple Product From A Store OTher Than Apple?

Hey guys,

Trying to save some coin on this Valentine's Day gift (Ipad Mini Retina 32gb) and have been looking on kijiji etc. There is a 'store' that lists on kijiji for $480 firm brand new sealed still which would be a decent discount. My question is: would it be worth it to buy from one of these stores, or should I buy from Apple Themselves? I'm not rich, and really would like a bargain, but worry still about these places.

You get a 1 year warranty regardless of receipt. Look up said serial number on the apple website and it'll tell you remaining warranty. Also be sure to place a call in to make sure its not on the blacklist (i.e. stolen)

That's actually something I never thought about. I am unsure if the 'store' in brampton will allow be to check serial numbers though heh, but that's definitely something to be concerned about.

+1 on the receipts guys, I have had good success with Apple in the past though by just walking in with my wonky phone; they always make sure you leave happy.

It wouldn't make sense foe this store to sell stolen goods.
Otherwise I'm sure police would have shut them down some time ago.

Buy at the store and be done with it.

I've bought apple products at the Apple Store, WallMart, Future Shop, and Best BUY. Whenever i have an issue with the product, i always take it back to the apple store. They've always seemed to be good about it. And as someone mentioned above, the IME or serial number will give the rep an idea when it was sold.

As long as the basic apple warranty is good (which can be verified with the S/N) I wouldn't have any fears. What I would recommend though is never buy an extended warranty from someone other than apple. You can add applecare to any product as long as its within a certain time frame.
