Horns: What options are there aside from Hellas?
I know there already are a few threads on this but I'm not getting the answers I'm looking for.
I was thinking air/train horn but the legality of it is that I could get charged if it startles ppl and causes an accident. Does anyone know if there's official regulation or legislation on this like a max dB level or something?
Watched a few of vids about the Hellas compared to the stock ones and they just don't seem to sound as angry and menacing as I'd like them to be. I don't honk often but when I do, I wanna get peoples attention. I want something that's very loud and abrasive, not cute and polite.
Any suggestions for me? If you have a vid comparison or some audio clip, that would be great!

Sounds stupid, but get the "El Grande" horns from Canadian Tire. Cheaper than Hellas and sounded great when I had them.

I feel like I should get a set of the El Grande's to add to my hellas :P Could always be louder!

I'm looking into a horn upgrade now to scare away squeegee kids before they touch my car. I'm thinking something load enough to cause pain to those in close proximity but not enough to cause hearing loss. Hopefully, these horn would fit on a gen 3.

Forget El Grande's then. You are looking for Hellas or an air based Stebel Nautilus.

Thanks Sarujo, sounds like a pretty sweet option!
Sorry for all the questions but...
Do you have those installed on your M3, 1 or 2 of them?
Where did you mount them?
How are they performing in the winter?
If you accidentally double tap the lock button, how bad is it?
Cheers!

I decided to go with the El Grande's over the Stebels so I can't answer many of your questions. I didn't get the El Grande's installed yet, but hopefully over the holidays. The Stebels are loud but I just did not want to deal with possible issues and being without a horn because of compressors failing due to temperatures etc.
I may get them installed with El Grande + OEM stock together, but will depend on how that sounds. Otherwise, I will have it setup so only the loud horns sound when key is in ignition - when key not in ignition only OEM horn sounds.
