Headlight Tint Experiences
Only found window and taillight tints in other threads but nothing applicable for headlights. Mods, kindly move this thread if it shouldn't be here.
I have an idea of getting my headlights tinted (black/charcoal) when it gets warmer and will probably go with our sponsors. Should look nice with my white genpu hatch. Thinking wrap and not spray so it's not permanent. Questions are:
1) How long do they last? (my taillight tints have held up for two years so I'll be happy with that too)
2) Any problems with the pos?
3) Any related experiences, kindly share them please.
When I decide, I'll have to ask how they'll do it because I didn't like how the last guy did my taillights.
Thanks!

Get in contact with @Hyperion to paint your housings. I would suggest not tinting them as you are going to lose some output from your headlights if you tint them.
Re: Headlight Tint Experiences
I had my previous mazda's headlights tinted, was done at RestyleIt and it was the lightest tint they did, it was on for roughly 2 years, but had a few bubbles in it by then, and no troubles with the police at all lol. But yeah you would be better off to just get the housings painted black.

+1 might as well Hyper Garage them if you're going to spend that kind of money tinting them.

Re: Headlight Tint Experiences
Had my head and tail lights tinted about 3 years ago. No issues at all with durability, police, etc. Shop used window tint, charcoal, and it's been great.
Re: Headlight Tint Experiences
Thanks everyone. My first option is tinting it but I need to look at painting the housing as an alternative. Will contact Hyperion directly for this and get more info.
@S.F.W. and @mParsonz, how was the light output from your tinted headlights? As others have mentioned, you could lose some headlight output, which could be a concern for me. Currently using 6K HIDs.
Re: Headlight Tint Experiences
And another thing. Painting the housing=possibility of condensation?
Re: Headlight Tint Experiences
No issues with light output, can not really tell the difference in terms of output versus non tinted.

Yes if it's not sealed properly.
Re: Headlight Tint Experiences
What is a good shop to get it tinted and how much should I be looking to spend?

Be careful if you open the lights yourself and do the work, make sure you seal them properly as our lights, at least with the HID version, have the ballasts in the bottom of the housing, if water gets in, guess where it lands?! Happened to mine, fried both ballasts - I'm using aftermarket now and they work fine but if you're planning on sticking with the stock ballasts just be sure you don't miss this step as a stock ballast from Mazda is something like $400/ea!
Re: Headlight Tint Experiences
i know this is an old post but if you have not done anything with your headlights yet. i bought my Mazda 3 Both headlights and tail lights were already tinted using film. No problems with visibility at night and the tint looks clean. i have pictures of my car if you want just not sure how to post.

I guarantee a tint is reducing your light output. Mazda's have meh light by default. I wouldn't reduce it further with tint.

I'm sure it reduced it from what ever it originally was but I have zero issues driving on country roads that are not lit. out of the 30 different cars I've had I find mazda headlights stock are pretty decent for lighting.
