It is all about power to weight ratio ... 0-100kph , 30-100 and 100-0 .
Change the HP or drop your cars weight and center of gravity , changes how your car handles.
Some of you love the extra HP off the line. More is better. Keeping that speed around corners is better. But how fast can you stop that speed.
I love keeping all that speed and then stopping 40 feet shorter. Think about better pads on those oem rotors or going bigger rotors next time you have change your pads.
Alot of after market oem fitting pads with more grip/stopping power. For daily drivers, Street & some track, and autocross enthusiast. Hawks/EBC/G-loc and others..do your research.
As for power to weight ratio ... yes 250-300 HP on a 2000 lbs car is that ideal street car and especially fast too. A car 2000lbs and 250 HP would be .125 hp per
pound (HP divided by weight). Keep in mind , weight affects braking and cornering performance, but you guys already know that :)

Hmmmm so why is the MX5 always the fastest at all my autocross events.....
In my 2012 GX im at 2600 lbs and 170whp (approx 220 hp) ... .085
(I have not weighted it without spare / jack / jack accessoroes/ extra lug nuts/ oem battery/ plus other dib and do das in the glove box and hiding = almost 100 lbs)
Hoping to drop more weight and add 20+whp after i rebuild and aiming at +8K rpm. I would love to get it close to .100

The 2021 Mazda3 Turbo is 250hp on premium gas and 3383lbs, bumps it up to 0.73 hp per pound. Torque is a factor too.
Mine is on a boat from Japan now :)

I have the weight at 3374 to 3392 depending on who reviews the car .
And correct on premium it should make 250 and 320 torque ... but
i think its torque is great low end , 1st gear , 2nd ...and drops off.

LOL, I should have edited my post to be 0.073hp/lbs.
0.73 would be nutso.
Good vid. I've tested an all black one from Mazda of TO and totally agree. Loads of low end torque but not at all a peaky power train.

I need read more about mazda AWD ...i dont think its like subaru always on .
Like many AWD its all 4 on the start and then switch to FWD after 50kph

Don't forget to factor in your own body weight :D All cars are slower now thanks to quarantine!

Finding something to remove to off set the gain.

Replace the heavier lugs with these save about 3lbs ( i have those longer stem ones on now) and also free up rotation speed
