I have already been phoning the city to fix that bump at Dundas. It is awful. I tend to go up Runnymede and through the neighbourhood to avoid the Keele/Dundas intersection.

it sucks because they wont fix them when it gets too cold. ive already seen roads with construction on them that have abandoned to be finished next year. its ridiculous... at least they fixed some roads like midland and finch.

haha, same. i got a flip key off ebay with the 3 buttons because i couldnt sand the mess of fob/key in my packet. however the panic button isnt actually a button anymore..but a mazda emblem....but if i push hard enough it activates the panic.

Received my weather tech floor liners in the mail the other day and found some time to throw them in my 2012 sky sedan. Wish I had found nextmod had them before I went and paid full pop from the factory:bang

Best way to look at it really. They'll pay for themselves after one winter season. Also have tint, rust proofing and the clear 3m bra coming next week hopefully before H4H

It was hard because the car only has about 500KM on it, and the brakes are virtually new/touchy... There was a moment when I was slowing down, my body kept moving which pushed down on the break harder and then my arm hit the horn pretty good, lol... luckily no one was around to witness this.

kinda like the first time you drive. when you brake you feel like your getting thrown onto the brakes lol

Go to Joe at MOT and get him to hook you up with a flip key...it's 100x easier than trying to order one off eBay. Last I checked he's got some in stock and if you already have 2 key fobs you can save on the programming fees and do it yourself.
-
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
the thing is....the one i posted is only a case....you take the guts out of the oem key fob and the immobilizer chip from the key and u shove it into the case. get the key cut and your done. no programming or anything... you do however need to peel off the panic button
-

i could be wrong here but im pretty sure the actual key has to be programmed as there is a chip in the key. so if you go get a blank key cut it would only be able to unlock and lock the doors and turn your car to acc but it would not actually start.
again, i could be wrong with this but im pretty sure thats how it works.

This is my understanding as well. The one reason I never acted on these cheap eBay flip keys or anything. I've always wanted a flip key but from what I understood, the only way to have a full functioning flip key is doing it the proper way through the dealership where the chip in the key will be programmed and what not.
-
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
if you have 2 keys already you can program it yourself. if you dont, then you have to go to a dealer and it costs a lot.

thats how it works, when you get a new key with a new chip. but this is used to make your existing key/fob into a flip key.
you gotta take the immobilizer chip out of the key itself. will require you to cut the handle of the key to get to the chip. since the equipment is being transfered to the new key case from the old fob/key. there will be no programming to go through. the old key and fob will be nothing but an empty case and a metal key that cannot start the car. i use this as a spare just in case i some how lock my keys inside so i can open the door.
the immobilizer chip has to be within an inch in the ignition for the car to start.
heres my old key:

Cool, thanks for the info. I'm definitely gonna look into this; would be sick if I could turn my spare key into a flipkey.

word of caution though... on my flip key, the key part is pretty wobbly but shows no sign of it falling of any time soon. im gonna try and fix it with some sort of hard epoxy or JB weld or something. its also bigger than you would imagine.

Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
ahhhh. didnt realize thats how the key was. my bad.

lol same, the kay itself is sealed pretty tight because it was pressed and rubber welded together. it will take some time to cut into the edges. theres also a frame like plastic piece thats inside the hold the chip to the metal. it forms whatevers missing on the metal itself. the black rubber/plastic is then wrapped around it.

Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Oops wrong section and just realized its for a 2nd gen, anyways, I plastidipped my door handles today to see how it would look two toned (black & orange) and I like it.
Debating if I should keep it plastidipped or actually paint it to keep it through the winter. All thats left in terms of exterior is fixing the rust (after winter) and painted the stock rims black.

did you bring you car indoors before the rain? if so then its ok. if they brought it in even when its a bit wet. the rust proofing will hold the water against the metal and rust

Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
No it went in before the rain came down so it should be alright.....hopefully
