I found some threads regarding hydrolock but nothing specific to what I am experiencing. Question: Did I hydrolock?
I am running a AEM cold air intake on my mazdaspeed3. The intake is roughly in line with the drivers side tire. This afternoon I got in my car to commute home, upon leaving the parking lot and moving through the gears I noticed I lost a significant loss of power when I hit about 3000 rpm in 3rd gear. Got nervous and drove very cautiously home the rest of the way. Hit the gas one more time before parking and it happened again in 3rd gear. Called Mazda quickly and they said it sounds like a hydrolock. I popped the hood and pull things away and noticed my filter was as dry as if I just took it out of the packaging.
Anyone else experience anything like this? I have about 24,000km on it. Could it be the spark plugs already?

one more note....the road was damp but there were no puddles where I exited my parking lot.
