Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
They included it in the early 2010's because it was part of the marketing release. The only option I had available was colour.
That being said, I love the 2013 interior and exterior changes. I'll trade you door sills and footwell lighting for that nice radio, blind spot indicator, and rear bumper.

There is still a door sill on the 2013... Unless it was different/better before? Blind spot indicator is only tech package, which I don't have lol. And you mean the Bose radio?

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
That nice big screen radio the 2013's get.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
About to take the speed down to Tennessee to run tail of the dragon. Leaving Thursday morning. Taking the car in for a service inspection tomorrow morning. Doing an oil change and having it inspected for about 25 other things that they suggested.
Is there anything I should ask them to check outside of the standard oil, coolant levels, battery and suspension?
Thanks guys!

JBR sway bar. Good bar.
Shitty hardware. Anyone know where I can get a good set of the bushing clamps that aren't made out of ****ing pop can foil? Irritated to say the least.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Oooh that's rough.
The ones that came with my corksport are holding up decently...had the collars replaced due to rusting out in a single winter (second set held up way better). Could just see if they'd sell you a set?
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Yeah JBR does sell a set, but tomorrow I'll go look at a local Brafasco/Fastenal or Spaenaur for a 1.25" clamping collar that's made out of a thicker gauge stainless steel, or something.

Anyone been to Hot Rod Scott's for exhaust work?
Just got my muffler in the mail so I want to get it welded in, I ideally didn't want to have to go back to the other shop where I got the 3'' Custom Exhaust so I am looking around Mississauga/Etobicoke.
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
never heard of them, for all my exhaust jobs if i cant do it myself i go to noysboys

Never been to then myself, but many of the regular 3 guys I have, and work is always well regarded.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
They always have some pretty nice vehicles they are working on when evere I drive by.

Lol ya, that is kind of expected... I have the muffler in my trunk so they just have to install it. Went over at lunch yesterday and Scott said it would be around $150 to install which isn't terrible.
Considering going FMIC now but since I am going to be a Meth addict I am not sure if it's worth it or not... tax return money has me tempted lol...

do the fmic, power after tuning with the ap was incredible. i could only imagine what the meth would add to that. had to cancel my meth order since i ran into my own problems with my car. gotta order soon pistons, rods etc.. the whole deal!

Just not sure the FMIC is worth it since I have the Cp-e TMIC already which flows great, it just gets heat soaked after a while but I would think the meth would cool things down a fair bit anyways.
Just curious if anyone was ever made the switch from TMIC to FMIC with methanol injection and it made a difference with the stock turbo.
I was thinking about getting the CX racing FMIC piping kit with a TR6 intercooler which wouldn't break the bank then selling my Cp-e TMIC which would make up for some of the difference in cash.
The thing is with your build is that you need that FMIC if you are going to produce all the extra power and heat, it would heat soak a TMIC in no time without meth.
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
thats the same fmic i have, and its great! definately the tmic makes a difference once u go aftermarket but the fmic is even better. cx makes it at a reasonable price too and if u sell ur tmic, it wont cost you so much in the end to do the fmic uprade.
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
What is going on here
How will meth help with heat soak?
The CPe tmic cools off almost immediately once the air starts to move

It cools off to an extent but it still remains warm, even when moving the TMIC will be warmer from the heat of the exhaust gases so even with Meth the charge will still be a little heated up compared to a FMIC.
I was just curious where the tipping point for BAT's, the cooler the charge the more dense so it makes more power but at what point does that temperature not matter anymore because the air is already as dense as it can get (similar with all fluids).
From what I have read of MSF: TMIC + Meth ~ ambient air temperature so FMIC + Meth ~ cooler then ambient?
I guess I will ask the tooners on MSF to see if benefits outweigh the cost.
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
You can't pressurize air to that extent and have it cooler than ambient. Even with meth.
