so 3 is the last installment of the ironman series?
Kinda sad to watch it end... but of course somethings are better left that way than dragging on (Saw series).

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
Yeah right, it ain't the last. Disney's gonna ride marvel till there's no more penny left in your pockets lol
Iron man 3 wronged the extremis plot, wronged the mandarin character, and wronged Tony stark. They had an amazing story in the comics to stick to but Hollywood ruined it with their spin on things. The reveal of the mandarin did it for me. Turned into a sideshow comedy. Literally had me question the genre of this film. Felt like it was a movie made by a 13 year old for 13 year olds.
Then again, after the Avengers, dark knight rises and Spider-Man from the year prior, I expected something more

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
Slow day at the office today so I snuck out and watched Iron Man 3 in a D-Box theatre, in 3D too! This was my first time watching in D-Box...it definitely WASN'T worth it! Tickets were $22.99! The movie was just OK: 6/10.
Just finished watching Jack Reacher on Blu-ray; much better than I expected: 7/10.

I'm actually not familiar with extremis (stopped reading comics awhile back). I didn't think the handling of the Mandarin was that bad given present times but again I am more familar with the ring wearing over the top asian stereotype mandarin.

To be honest the director said originally he wasn't going to include the Mandarin because in the comics he was a poor caricature to begin with. I like what he did. Seriously having a fu man chu character would have been silly to see on screen wearing that awful outfit and his rings shooting out bolts.

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
Saw IM3 yesterday and quite liked the story. Never really followed Iron Man comics so it's all new to me. Wished they would make some of these movies a little darker.

Look for Thor and Captain America to be much darker. Iron Man would be tough for Marvel to change based on the previous two flicks. Iron Man is now more popular that Spider Man in the movie world.
Hopefully the reboot of the Iron Man series will change things

Wait, reboot? What the hell?
Perhaps I should actually see IM3 though before knowing any more....

Sorry, let me clarify. There has been talk of a reboot if Marvel/Disney don't sign up Robert Downey Jr. I think they will since he is Tony Stark. ;)

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
We just saw Star Trek 2 into darkness this weekend at the drive-in, the movie was really good with lots of awesome special effects. Love the drive-in, can bring own food, use the bathroom without shimming down the aisle's, and your choice of adult stimulous???

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
I am actually in the process of watching it, but figured might as well post it:
Battle Royale II - not as good as the first one =(

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
Watched Great Gatsby last night. It's a pretty good movie and the story followed the same major events in the book. My only comment is - for a non sci-fi movie, it was heavy in VFX.
-
Re: What's the last movie you watched?
Cloud Atlas - waste of 2+ hours.
Star Trek Into Darkness - could have done more, but not bad.

^ This. Film was creepy as hell. Wouldn't be if it wasn't because there were only 3 couples in the theater.
Also, IM3 was just too fictional. hated some parts of it that doesn't make sense and story line was predictable IMO.
