I wish I could pull my rear quarters that far but I started to get the buckle you see just aft of the door so I stopped.
how far could I realistically pull my fenders?
Supposing I didn't care about buckling etc, but just wanted to run the widest set up possible
@Hyperion
I'm thinking for the track here but since the discussion came up....why not
Physically... 1 1/4 maybe 1 1/2, gunna buckle. But you'd be better off with a clean cut than an ugly pull and buckle
because I'd also want my rear camber, and front too for that matter, to be closer to zero to maximize road contact
I'm just gonna have a chat with @Mr Wilson
Buckle ****s up your fenders 100% and looks ugly. A clean cut would do much less damage. Don't even need to add flares lol.
I'm just talking as in hoodrat shit. Which is pretty much what you're considering if you are willing to run buckled fenders for width
As to what you can fit, depends on how low and how stiff your suspension is. Assuming race height, perhaps a 255 on 9/9.5. 0 body lines left, just literally pulling to fit wide shit.
Wide rims would do you less good than a low offset 8.5 and 235/245 tho as far as weight goes
Do eat. Flares that is.
This type of stuff ruins my life and is why I air on the side of "conservative" its also why I bought a truck that I want to leave mostly alone aesthetically.
@loki how wide of a tire/wheel combo are you looking to fit?
The buckle you see there could be combination of pull and weight on the quarter aired out (ask me how I know). Without seeing it aired up it is hard to say but if I air out on funky ground the body of my car starts to protest so I have to be mindful.
However when we were pulling my fenders you could see it start with the pressure of the roller as well so we backed off.
Dave, I'd like to run a 17 x 9.5 with a 255 tire
edit: let's continue this discussion in my ride thread

I want it
Could be painted, but actually pretty cool.
Looks like something Batman would drive on a budget.
Rear kinda works... IDK.
Funny the FR-S kit is the go to "they don't make it for my car so I'll slap this on"
"What are these 'tires' you speak of?"
