508 per month for me... =( 04 mazda hatchback but im 19 with statefarm
why use state farm ??? they are the most expensive insurance for young people. I remember they quoted me like 940 a month when i had a jetta . I just had an accident .
I strongly advise you to look elsewhere , after they quoted it me that price i found one insurance for around 350. Same coverage.
same goes with you , why state farm???
TD insurance quote it me around 250 when i told them i had an accident. However i was lucky enough that they could not see anything in my record ( a miracle i guess? so they drop the price to 160 (i think ). Call td, Bel air, and there are other options out there.
state farm is bad , unless you have a clean record or are old
SF is not bad, they're average, just not the cheapest. It translates to better handling of your policy, claims and what not down the line as opposed to a dirt cheap insurer that may cause you hassle when you actually to use them.
I know a lot of people with good rates through them but the key is that they have multiple policies with them (several cars, home, life). Having multiple lines of insurance saves you anywhere from 20% to 60% on some occasions.
The same applies for other insurers but especially with them.
Note that I may be a bit biased because I'm somewhat affiliated with SF but keep in mind that I went with Bel Air for a reason :)
Shopping around is key, do your homework and you should find a decent deal but don't expect to pay $50 bucks anywhere for full coverage.
thanks for the suggestions, I'll call 2moro and see what they say
forgot to mention, i have my auto, home and business insured with them so iam saving around 30 percent
i dunno if i posted this. but yea 447 a month with pilot. and im 18 with 1 speeding ticket and a 2008 mazda3 GS
but you still paying a lot . I would shop around , try calling td insurance , they are pretty good i would say. TD is known for their customer service too.
I also agree that state farm is a better all rounded company and you avoid all type of hassle you go through with dirt cheap companies. But you pay a lot more for that .
Bel air, td seem to be good companies too.
I had ING before through a broker , but i hate dealing with brokers.
Overall i still think insurances are the biggest scam here
If I were you I would go on the belair website, go through the 5 minute application process, be honest when you fill it out and see what happens when it gives you a quote. It will then let you customize your covgs (deductibles, liability limits etc) and see what you end up with. That's how I did mine and it was the cheapest one around. It also gives you an option to click on a button and uses kinatix to compare what you put on the application to other insurers so you can see if belair is the cheapest or someone else.
At that point once Bel Air was the way to go for me I called their customer support, gave a bit more info and was insured within 15 minutes.
On a side note, for the same coverages and same info provided to economical, they quoted me at $500 a month instead of just over $200. I did a lot of digging/calling/online applications/walk in and phone calls to brokers and agents and no one came close to it so I definitely encourage you to check out their website/call them first and then go from there.
agree
Although i have bad luck with online forms. Somehow whatever quote i get online is more than what i get when i actually speak to an agent (which is a good thing). So, dont be scare if you get a high quote online , you'll prob get a lower one if you speak to someone in the phone
I'm with a company called Chieftain Insurance
2007 Mazda 3 GT Sedan
$1000 All Perils Deductible/$2M Liability
27 Year Old Male, 6 Star Driver (No Accidents, No Tickets)

And that is a HUGE decrease from Wawanesa which I was paying ~250/monthly @ $500 deductible.
I wonder if these high rates are because I live so close to the highway. (Very high traffic area)
21year old male. No tickets, no accidents.
Listed as owner and primary driver

Hey not sure if anyone's mentioned but try kanetix.ca and it will compare your rates with up to 8 others.
I found DesJardins to be the cheapest (BY HALF!) for all of my options, and they even pegged me for an 'at fault collision' that was a bumper to bumper in a parking lot... lol
Anyways try to site, it's a pain to put in all your info but at least with that site you get 8 results for your time!
kanetix.ca is a great website to comparison shop for auto insurance. I actually went to a site called insurancehotline.com and it found the best rate for me.
Yes, it is a pain to put down all your info, but I found insurance for about $80/month cheaper through that website so it was worth it! :chuckle
I just renewed my insurance as well as my wife's. I drive a 2008 Mazdaspeed3 and she drives a 2001 Nissan Sentra. I'm 28 and she's 27.
We are with TD Meloche Monnex and pay $208.50 per month for both cars plus $22.14 per month for our home insurance.
Our car insurance may come down slightly too as I'm thinking of removing some endorsement coverages like car rental and accident forgiveness....
As far as I know, no other insurance company can touch the rates I'm getting...
I'm shopping for insurance renewal, so far got a quote fr Belair is 241.25/mo and TD 243.74/mo both 1000 deductible, I'm 35, just got a G license on Oct 2008, G2 last Aug 2007 and G1 Apr 2007. My current is 236/mo fr TD and it seems like no effect if you got G license and besides it goes up with my previous. They said insurance companies increase especially to our cars because there are a lot down the road, what an excuse...BTW i drive Mazda3 08 GS...
I just turned 25 on the 15th and my insurance premiums dropped by $900 to $1100/year. WOOT!
$2280/year me and the wife insured
$114/month
$2500 per year for me and my g/f.
