Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Finally replaced the original factory Panasonic battery in my 2010 with the Kirkland 24F. The starter sounds and feels much stronger! Glad I got this done before the winter. And lots of room in the gen2 battery box. I had to fiddle with the negative post connector (make it tighter) as the negative terminal on the 24F was a bit smaller. Love the built-in handle too. Will see how things go for the next week and then I will return the old battery for my $10 core refund.
Lots of fresh (10/15) 24F stock at the Markham location (Woodbine and 407)

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Hi thanks for the thread. Car wouldn't start this morning and had to jump start it. Came across this thread and wanted to buy the 24f. Called Costco and they told me they don't carry battery for my car (2010 3 GS 2.0L Auto), I then asked them if they have the 24f and they said yes $100+tax, 3 yrs full warranty and 5yrs prorated. I asked if I could come and buy it but the customer rep told me they won't sell me if it is not right size for my car. My question is if I can buy it from Costco somehow will the warranty be void because I am using it in a car whose battery size is not 24f.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Whoever you talked to was blowing smoke out his ass.
The batteries at Costco are self-serve, just like everything else except tires. Find the battery section, grab a 24F, toss it in the cart and take it to the checkout. Pay for it. Done
And no, it won't affect your warranty in the slightest.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
No I don't. Has anyone experience ur car stalling while idling after replacing the battery with 24f battery. I am reading some ppl are having this problem in some forum.

Mine has been running fine with one.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Might take a full drive cycle to sort itself out... removing the battery resets the ECU's parameters so it has to relearn.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
I assume 24f lasts longer than an 8?
I have that in my car

I am thinking it should last longer for at least two reasons. 1) Since the larger battery starts out with more overall capacity: compared to a smaller battery, for the same percentage degradation over time the larger battery will have higher output. 2) The less you can avoid deep-cycling a car battery the less charge-cycle wear. Since a hard winter start will draw down the capacity of the larger battery less there should be less wear on it. Hmmm... as I type this I am thinking those two reasons may actually be essentially the same. Or not?

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Hmmmm so I wonder if my current battery just needs a boost. And run it longer. The car died after I turned it off and tried to turn it over again.

You could try that. You'll need to drive for a while and you'll not be sure it brings it up properly. It totally depends on the condition of the battery. Best thing to do is take it in to a shop and have it "slow-charged" up to proper levels. This way you can tell also if the battery will accept or hold a charge.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
@dumbone95 wrong battery! That's fitment code 24 (Costco's lookup code). Go back to the top of the thread and see what the 24F looks like then try again..

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
its no big deal, given the exchange, unless it was less than 90 it's not worth it, i'll just buy it here
Thanks anyways though

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
It's $99.79 + $10 Core Charge @ryan2.3 . You will get $10 refunded if you bring back the old battery. I bought one a few weeks ago for the gf's 3.
-
Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
regardless, given the price of the batteries down here, it'd have to less than $90 ($88 and change actually) before taxes just to be even because of the exchange. I'm just going to pick it up here since there's a costco down the street from me

Checked my receipt from Nov 2015 in Markham and the 24F was $99.99 then + $10 core and then easy core refund as you say

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Sorry to bump an old thread.. Deciding between a Kirkland battery or this AGM one that I saw on Costco's website..
http://www.costco.ca/.product.1042004.html
It's for a 2010 mazda 3 GS. Anyone heard of Exide? It has good reviews on Amazon but can't really find much else. They also have a $20 rebate going on right now which brings it down to $144.99

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
I wish I saw this thread earlier...my battery died yesterday and ended up picking up a AC Delco 600 CCA battery
-
Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Just picked it up from Costco.
Even though I know CCA isn't everything in a battery, Costco is 710 CCA just to compare.

That is likely the smaller battery. Get the 24F, it fits and gives more cranking power.
