I hear ya. Just traded in my lifted ford ranger for my 3.
I did a suspension lift plus some tweaking to go from a 4" lift to a 6"... that put me in the 7000 dollar range. set of rims is about 700, and off road tires at 400 a piece that only last a year or 2. imagine what 9 or 10 thousand could do to stance a mazda 3 haha :(
