Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
I am thinking the HTP 1 peice 3inch...but...dont want to go with a 51R battery, or a smaller tray.
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Corksport fits without modification...just remove ECU cover.

I talked with HTP and they said you could run their 3.5" intake on the Gen 2 speed3 by just relocating the ECU on top of the fuse box. Easy shit and now you'll have a SICK intake.
I plan on running the JBR or HTP 3.5" intake if I get the GT2871 turbo I have my sights on.

its 3.5" vs. 2" which is the corksport
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
let me rephrase, the corksport is not tiny, but is too small for an upgraded turbo application
for the K04, the corksport is probably the better intake out there, at least I found it had less issues with leaks

Corksport has a true 3" ID intake for the MS3...I was not referring to their standard size intakes.

Because a $10 coupler is hard to find? He was looking for an intake that doesn't need a 51r or relocated ECU, so it is an option.
Also, he said Beaner...so the S3, what's the inlet size on it? Isn't it stock size?
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
You dont need to get so worked up if I am giving my opinion on corksport
If you want to offer a larger intake with the modded speed in mind there should be an option for larger coupler when you purchase. Not whether or not a coupler is hard to find or not.
For what its worth, my intake fits with the stock battery in place with the ecu moved. I believe @fywdyl kept the stock battery. I think on the corksport website it said you had to move the ecu...but I could be wrong/misread
Bnr I believe uses all the original k04 housing
Polish Eagle mentioned gt2871 which had 4 inch intake
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
No dice if you have gen1
** 07-09 Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6 must make ecu or battery modifications for fitment.
** Does not fit with CorkSport cold air box.
** This system is not CARB approved..
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Not getting worked up at all lol relax grumpy cat.
2nd gen we get lucky but ya, ECU relocate is the easy option.

The newer S3v2 is 2.5 inches from what I gather, and the housings are all done up inhouse, compressor and exhaust. No more reusing the stock stuff at all.
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
When ordering HTP, one of the options they give you is the coupler size for the BNR.
By the way, any one want my BNR?
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
What plans now @boyracer?
Or just going back k04?
