mazda3t stop reading the BS on internet that people use to market their own products. MSF has been testing the crap out of autotechs and CS internals (not as much testing but still goo results) with a very small percentage of failures.
IMHO, just get some autotechs and have someone who has installed them before do it for you.
Truuuufffff
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Some people had this issue but im guessing no one in the mazda forums did which is good. I already bought the pump so its too late now, but ill make sure to keep my stock pump in case of anything. Just have to find a core no one needs to send back.

The cam follower issue on hpfpupgrade.com is in regards to the VW/Audi FSI engines that needed the upgraded hpfp to run 'stage 2'. Their cam followers were essentially a maintenance/wear item. This does not apply to the Mazda DISI motor.
FWIW, the hpfp that John (hpfpupgrade, PTP, etc) sells was in the "first 700 whp Mazdaspeed3"....he's had a bad history on MSF (early pumps seizing, PTP business going bankrupt to avoid paying out warranty on seized pumps, his mother taking over the assets to keep the business within the family, opening up a new business under HPFPUpgrade.com, etc), which is why he's no longer a vendor on there and, subsequently, why the masses have not purchased nor talked about his products on MSF.

And that is why I go with the "known" and proven parts. Not about to be a guinea pig with my motor lol. Can't win races when it's blown up.
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Yes ofcourse that will be the reason he's frowned upon but we all know with these things take time. Their will be trial and error, and consequences that come along with that. Just like some of these guys that blown there motors. Its going to be a long road to victory but if you have the ambition and passion to achieve it then it will all be worth it in the end. His mistakes was long ago and it took all of this you speak of to get to where they all are now. I appreciate you guys looking out but I made this choice and I'll be the one to say I took the chance. The pump has arrived this morning, ill be installing it this weekend.

I'm actually the first guy to test this pump. I have one of the original ptp pumps from five years ago and I haven't looked back ever since. Hopefully yours will be ok too.

PS got my new meth pump installed and working :)
Old pump looks like it had the internal seals deteriorate, as there is paint bubbling around the motor/pump connection point. I am gonna take it apart this weekend to see what actually happened internally.
