They are narrow. They were built when horse & cart was the norm.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Looks awesome! Btw...for any of those fools wondering...my speed is back on the road. Healthy. New suspension is in and mint, turbo is great. Tune is getting there. Making some decent power. Few more parts to gather then tuning to commence. For all those who have helped, thanks!

Hahahaha wish I had that much time on my hands.
They fit......they just come into contact with the car itself if it moves.
Where are Ash's wheel in that diagram. Not race, not stance......but they fit.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Who here has done aftermarket seats/brackets.... i think tanspeed? Are there any forum sponsors who can get Corbeau etc... Locally?
My upholstery is taking a beating, truing to decide between repairing stock and going aftermarket because racecar. But shipping seats from the US seems like an expensive proposition, and all the seat brackets i've found are for Mz3 05+... Like are all our seat mounts the same between sedan, hatch, speed, gen1 and gen2?

Seat mounts should be the same on all gen 1. Not sure between gen1 and gen2 but I can't see it changing. VW use led the same ones for years between A1,A2, & A3 chassis. If gen 2 are the same switching to Gen 2 speed would be nice

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
I had sparco bucket in my car for a while , now sold though :( And it came out of a Gen 1 speed. Bolted into my gen 2 using 3 of the 4 mount bolts. The one rear drivers side bolt doesnt line up between gen 1 and gen 2. I never found this to be a huge issue as it never even had a wiggle with 3 bolts in place. (And I'm lazy )
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
How far out was that 4th bolt hole. If possible you could make a bracket just for that one hole
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Yes. That's all I was going to do. Just cut off and re-weld the bracket a little farther forward. It seemed to me that the bracket that I got with the seat was custom made anyways

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
So...why don't we have a thread for known low-ballers?
I'm thinking of starting a parts-consignment service to help ppl deal with the rampant low-balling that is prevalent on TM3.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
@loki
We should call it the Crows and Seagull Thread.
This will save fellow MS3 owners time from having to fend off requests from these ppl to meet somewhere out of the way just to have them offer $0.25 on the dollar after agreeing to a price beforehand.
Also, this may also prevent inevitable manslaughter charges...LOL
-
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
I can discuss with the mod team

Sell to reputable members.
Make them come get it from you at your convenience.
Ignore people who low ball the price before meeting them.
If person doesn't answer messages within a reasonable amount of time, ignore them.
If they offer pennies on the dollar in person, punch them in the face.
Honestly I haven't had any issues selling to people on here.

Not your fight [and not really mine either], but I share your sentiments...and sometimes, you should just sit back with some pop corn and see how we make this place fun.

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
How about in the interest of TM3 any sponsor that does work on a car must be a licensed mechanic.
Since by allowing that TM3 could be held liable if something happened to a members vehicle should the member seen litigation.
Just saying.

So youre saying if somebody got their headlights customized, and the car went up in flames, TM3 could be held liable for a members work since they are a sponsor?

I think he meant that that TM3 member would be held liable in court for their shoddy work.... not TM3.com
Its just like at my place at work... we only sell goods to licensed holders. This ensures reliability of the installed good, those who have gone to school & trained in their field are able to make a living in their line of work, consumers can be assured it's not a Joe Blow working on their car...
I also suspect @CelestSpeed3 meant engine work.... not cosmetics?

What inspired this?
I've seen some shoddy work and some work that's better than licensed Mazda mechanics too out of people on here. I imagine @Hyperion will have some choice words for this post lol
Everything I've done is on a NATOR basis, I'll lend my time, tools, knowledge free of charge but you're doing the wrenching and you're responsible.

YOU DO NOT BRING NATOR INTO THIS. YOU DO NOT EVEN UTTER THAT TERM.
