I have Training Certificate already. The problem is that I am still known as kind of new driver here in Canada (It\'s my third year in Canada and I\'m driving for 2 years). So I think that\'s why my insurance is high.Quote:

Chaser, the mods will increase your premiums as the insurance company will categorize you as a higher risk/more aggresive driver.

Mine is 1 year old now.
The best I can do is to put the snow tires on with black steelies to make the car look a bit dumber; and start driving like a highschool kid if they really categorize me as aggressive driver :p (i\'ve a clean record!)Quote:

I got a really good quote from them for RBC this weekend. $1800 below what RBC quoted me when I called them directly!

Ok... TD canada Trust is Meloche Monnex... same thing. And they do have alumni discounts.
Right now... Pickering.... w/ 2 speeding tickets (there were 4 just at my renewal)... 24... err scratch that... 25 ... (shudder)... \'04 hatch... $144 a month
I think I gotta call em up... to see if my price is cheaper now....
TD Insurance is not Meloche Monnex. TD Insuarance wont have alumni discount, Meloche Monnex does. So if you call up TD Insurance for a discount, they tell you to call MM.Quote:

to clarify Monnex is the group insurance wing of TD, they handle alumni, affinity and group plans

I am 23 currently but will be 24 when I recieve my 2006 m3 sport GT. I possess a G class licence (since 04/2004 and my G2 since 04/2000)
I have had 1 accident back in march of 2002 and no tickets.
Currently my family has 2 cars (3 drivers) and I am a 2ndary driver.
My family is insured with TD (not monnex) and now that I have shopped around I have found that the lowest price I have been able to find is with TD Monnex @ 5095. All other insurance companies quoted me for 5500 - 8000 per year.
However it seems that TD Monnex will only insure myself and not my parents thus I would not be able to drive the other cars that we own (we have 3 people and 3 cars). Adding myself to my parent\'s insurance policy yielded insane premiums of upwards of 9k(neither of my parents have accidents or tickets and are both 50+ with good credit and each their own business).
I\'m curious as to how some of the other under 25s are getting insurace for such a low rate (i.e. i see some posts that are in the 2000 range)

I\'m just guessing but I think it might be the accident in 2002 and the fact that u\'r under 25.. it might be better if u could wait until march or after march so that when the person asks if u\'ve had any accidents u could say no.. also, u only got ur G license almost 2 yrs ago.. that might have something to do with it.. I\'ve had my G license since I was 18 (way back in 97).. since I\'m just guessing don\'t quote me any of this.. just throwing out some rough ideas of why u\'r insurance might be so high..Quote:

i think that sometimes the brokers covers their eyes and writes down 25 for the age. not sure bout this. might have to call mythbuster for this.
