@jaimie08mazda3
I still have the tein h-techs in the rear, with the KW shock, and now have the coil over back in the fronts. So the front is about the same as it was, and the rear is where I wanted it to be on the coils. Even though I'm still on the springs back there.

That will do the trick and all is good.

Its ok i guess but he said theres still going to be a bit more than normal tire wear along the sides.

Also, threw the V3's back in with a different setup and the squeak happened 2 times since. I am going to drive it this week, see how it sounds.
Suspension parts wise, im talking new trailing arms, upper and lower control arms etc. + labour ( this isnt a 1 hour job either).
and the alignment is maxed out from what i heard from him. He couldnt get it any better.

But mine has been stock its entire life and it somehow has gotten camber without me modifying it to do so.
Anyways Im just going to roll with this setup for now. Its alot cheaper if i get new tires ever 2-3 years rather than replace the components since im going to be looking for a new car after i graduate in 2016.
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
I don't believe stock camber is set to zero.
Anyway, my point is that within that range, your tire wear and handling isn't going to be noticeably affected.
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Wash the car today... and then it rained..
:(

Regardless of having a stock suspension the car can still go out of its alignment. All the potholes can knock it out. Plus worn suspension can do that also.

This.
How many times did he put it on the rack? I would wager if you simply went around the block once after doing that alignment that the specs would not be the same if measured again. Worn bushings will cause it to go out of spec and make it impossible to stay in spec.
What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
I would agree, but he also said upper control arms, whoever is trying to sell you an upper control arm for a Mazda 3 is lying. The only upper thing I would see is the camber arm in the rear, but it's the camber arm, not upper.
And yes, the max height of the rears on KW V3 springs is what you see in the second pic @jaimie08mazda3
And what do you mean @schmat66 ?
Also, eye ball alignment was a little out of calibration today. Car drives perfectly straight, but the wheel is off a couple degrees. :(

he didnt mention the upper control arms and wasnt trying to sell me one. Im assuming its called the camber arm and i just got the name wrong.
From what he told me, he said that the bushings were fine and told me he was just going to return the bushings he ordered from mazda since i dont really need them and id be wasting about $450 if I did get it done.
Keep in mind that this car has had 1 accident in the past from the previous owner ( in the rear) and its highly likely something may not have been straightened out properly.
For now as long as the wear from the tires isnt too rapid/excessive im not too concerned.

Im not sure how many times he put it on the rack but I think he did it more than once because the "before" on the printout was slightly better than what he showed me in person when he first had it on the rack.
Overall the car drives waaaaay better now ( like it was when i first got it) so I have my hopes up. If the alignment changes... it will take a long time for it to go back to the atrocious alignment i had before.

There's a thread for that ;)

Didn't do anything to mine the past couple days aside from awkwardly breaking my stubby antenna. Part of the thread of the stubby broke, and so part of it is still stuck in the base unit on the roof. Apparently even a stubby greatly helps with radio reception :P All my radio presets are now featuring the Fuzz genre of music for me.
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
i mean its low clean and nice now :) and "stock" is allowed up to -2 in the rear for stock allignement specs on our cars .
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Mine is probably around -1. Left the camber arms in when I lifted it back up with the h-techs. So it actually corrected it more.

Swapped the front struts back out, definitely convinced it's the strut squeaking. Back to lowering spring height again. At least it's a quiet ride.
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Tucked her away for the winter. Washed it, drove home, washed it again, Put the winter tires on so I don't put flat spots in the good tires, fuel stabilizer, bounce sheets, and took the battery out. Can't wait until spring! It's so much faster than my ranger lol. I love it.

you are actually storing a 2006 Mazda3 sedan for the winter????
really???? :facepalm
I mean I know there might be an issue with the rust and all but thats what rust proofing and regular rinsing of the underbody is for...
