Twin turbo MS3?
I might be all up for trying stuff, but I'm not going to try that.
Instead of twin scroll, just 2 really small turbos.
so much work and really nothing to gain.
Pfffft twin Batmowheelz or whatever they're called.
The mod path series threads need to be stickied in the mazdaspeed3 section where they belong!
#1) OMG WTFZ0RZ. You just bought the damn GTX3076 that has yet to make it into your engine bay.
#2) You mentioned somewhere that they did a head-to-head of the EFR760 vs. GTX3076 and the GTX smoked it in airflow/hp (with the same turbine housings).
#3) OMG WTFZ0RZ....
You rage soooo much lol the one little ambiguous reference to plugs would not have stood out in a search. And it doesn't explicitly say these mods = get plugs. Given that Cobb in their info on the OTS tunes says to do plugs with an intercooler (not with just a downpipe) that is the most definitive I have come across. I hate how everyone says search but the questions are never clear, there are so many combinations out there to really say for sure.
that is ugly
welds look robotic. If someone did those by hand, omg
It's valentines day today...and I hate it when ppl come in the elevator, press their floor and just stand there...close the freaking door!
Also, it's like a potluck here...I don't think anyone should come on here, empty handed, and get pissed off if we don't give you food or if we offer you something not to your taste.
lastly, that tiny little paragraph, being a part of a dissertation, tells you more about anything you need to know about why you need one-step colder plugs than anything you read on Cobb's manual or anything anyone else here will bring to the table.
...would you like some dessert too?
Of course, if you're ever in TO and want to meet the NATOR boys and see what this is really all about, you're more than welcome to join our ownership or tuning seminar coming up. See us a-holes in real life...
LoL fobio you rage every day...I'm just heckling though because I know you know your shit. I did read it and I get the reason why the colder plugs are needed, just when they become needed isn't 100% clear cut.
get a fuel pump homie. Your car is going to blow up
better not spend a cent getting that dp installed. the fp on the other hand
There's something in particular, that ppl on the forums never understood, that the NATOR boys always understood...and this was shared clearly at our first gathering/seminar.
The car has had a tough go in the beginning....ppl blowing up left right and centre...Mazda3 guys bash on us, cuz they think we're condescending...power guys bash on us cuz we can't go past 300whp without blowing up. When the forums and internets is filled with this bullshit, and compounding that problem with noobs upon noobs running to jump off the cliff like lemmings, it completely destroys our image...not that it matters but the following does:
OUR RESALE VALUE.
If our forums are filled with noobish 2nd and 3rd hand owners who just throw on parts...just cuz some guy told them to and they blow up and post all over the ****ing internet about it, our resale value will suffer. Furthermore, there's so much misinformation out there, that guys, like yourself may resort to and settle for "being told what to mod".
"hey guys, I got this...what should I do?"
and invariably, ppl will either listen and succeed... or fail... but either way, they will never know why.
who the hell asks some random dude on the Internet about what to do with their investments?! And actually follows along?
I don't know breakfaseatre...why do I need a fuel pump? and so goes the vicious cycle.
the seminars, along with the mod path series, the rise of NATOR TO and the creation of MSpeed is all in the hopes to establish a reliable and real resource to those that are capable of seeking it out. we exist for those that have a head on their shoulders, read about others' experience, and decide for themselves what they need to do. and if they can't decide after thoughtful consideration, know that there are many guys locally who have been through what you have. however, none of us are here standing by to prove our knowledge and spoon feed you info...again, anyone with any common sense, wouldn't just "ask the Internet", like Yahoo answers and believe it and do it to their car.
having said all of that, I will again press the point, that the NATOR boys, along with MSpeed is here to help those who are capable of seeking us out. we want you to go fast, cuz it looks good on the rest of us and we don't want your car to blow up, cuz it looks bad for the rest of us.
...and the whole freaking forum looks bad if instead of reading and understanding, our members regularly post about silly-cone and paper mache intakes cuz they thought they had a great idea...lol...
Full disclosure: I have spent alot of time myself reading on msf, learning, and would not put myself at the same level as vincent, dave, neil. I love our cars, I love the NATOR idea, i love what mspeed is doing for toronto, i love working on my own car and i love helping others save money, and do the work themselves as well
we want to help, but these topics have been discussed ad nauseam.
Vincent wants to help, and thats why he has spent considerable time and effort putting together the mod path series and setting up seminars for us to all learn without puking out redundant question after redundant question
I hate to say it but generally, this forum is a poor source of information regarding our cars. It seems to be more social orientated as opposed to nitty gritty technical. If you actually care about the performance and getting the most out of it, spend some time over at msf. Everything you could possibly want to know, you just need to put some effort into it.
Fobio...I'm doing my best to learn, reading and researching but trying to sort the wheat from the chaff is quite difficult given the amount of miss-information on the internet as you've pointed out. When it comes to plugs, I understand why I might need them but nothing as far as I could find says when they're needed explicitly. If there were something I could monitor for it or a given mod level (ie you have a downpipe AND intercooler upgrade) or tune parameter (targeting xx PSI) that once reached means they're required, than I'm all ears. The flip side of things is that obviously up to a certain point the stock plugs are better and I'd hate to do them too soon and screw things up anyway.
The last thing I want is to meet the dreaded zoom-zoom boom...and I've gotten the whole need a fuel pump due to the fueling logic and what happens when pressure drops and when that happens and how to monitor it. But the further into stage 2 I get, the more unclear things become when it involves plugs/meth/etc.
You VIP again?
Edit: To B.E.
I like the community here and am more comfortable...I have an account on MSF but am hardly over there. It's also easier to know who the knowledgable trustworthy people are here when it comes to advice; rather than trying to figure out who on MSF is talking out their ass versus knowing their shit.
I'm out in Kitchener, so coming out to TO isn't always doable...but I'll do what I can when I can. Thanks for the heads up on the MSF people...I'll try to find more info on there.
this deserves its own thread...
it's interesting because options are nice, but fitting the EFR is likely problematic in our tight engine bay. 10lbs of shit in a 5lbs bag is often used to describe what we have to deal with.
I want you to know the moment I knew about your extra DP, the wheels in my head started spinning.
Faccckkk this. Im done with mazda. Im picking up my new ride at the end.of the week. 2010 pos chevy equinox.
They even come with the option(s) you like.
