That is likely the smaller battery. Get the 24F, it fits and gives more cranking power.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
I changed mine this week and it is great! Snug fit and turns over no problem!
I do have an issue with my auto mode headlights and dash illumination I noticed today. When I start the car up in the morning, the dash lights up red with the DRL on. It is supposed to automatically flip to HID (stock, car is a GT) and the dash should fade to a light blue colour. Instead, it does not flip to the HIDs and the dash stays illuminated bright red. Even if I toggle the switch to off, the dash is still red and the DRL are still on. If I manually switch to the headlights, then the dash turns to the appropriate blue colour and the HID come on. At night, it seems to work fine where it switches to HID automatically and dash is appropriate colour. It seems to only be morning/afternoon/daytime. Anyone have experience with this since swapping the battery? Am I supposed to calibrate the auto sensor? I'll look at the manual over the weekend but thought its worth to check if anyone had this and have a quick fix.

I got Jimmy to change mine too at 8 years with original alternator. Now it cranks no problems.

Doesn't surprise me really.
I just changed my battery out last year only because mine was aging and I got the replacement battery for a good price (barely used from another member). My battery from '07 still cranked like a champ. Original alternator is still in there today.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Hey guys... 2009 Mazda 3 GT here. Stock battery has been having issues the last couple of winters. It gets cold here in Manitoba :P Just found this thread and was wondering if the Kirkland 24F is still the best way to go on a 2009? Thanks!

Yes for the price and warranty. I think it has a higher CCA than the stock Panasonic battery.

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
stock 50D20L (group 26R equivalent) battery is rated at approximately 310 CCA, 55D23L (group 35 equivalent) battery is rated at approximately 320 CCA, 75D23L (group 35 equivalent) battery is rated at approximately 465 CCA, while the rare (it seems) 80D26L (group 24F equivalent) is rated at approximately 490 CCA
reserve capacities are 63 minutes, 74 minutes, 95 minutes, and 103 minutes, respectively
Interstate's catalogue now lists the group 24F for some models of Mazda3s

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Hi guys, sorry to bump the thread. Dealer is telling me that I should replace the battery as their tests show that it doesn't have the same cold cranking capability as before. Car is a 2009 Mazda 3 GS automatic (2.0 engine). Is this 24F Kirkland ok to put into my car? I only ask because I was at my Costco the other day and their book recommends some other number (8) based on my car's specs.
Thanks.

The book recommends a smaller battery but the 24F will fit fine in you car. It will give you more CCA, and more bang for your buck.

Thanks. I was just worried that putting in the wrong type of battery would cause things to not work. :)

Re: Group 24F Kirkland batteries back at Costco!!
Found one in Oshawa
Price has gone up to $110
Anyone have a stock battery box retaining piece that holds the battery in the battery box they’re willing to part with?
Mine seems to have gotten lost during my last move...

$119.99 plus taxes and core paid $146.89. I also saw the AMG 24F, $50 more in Costco Vaughan.
