Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Both sets are OEM, back then I asked a friend to help and he didn't secure the clips properly and used cheap 3M tape. I had initially installed them too close to the top and it made them squeak, was rushing because I did it outside in winter. The other visors were coming off as well so it was a matter of time before I lost them.
This time I was patient and did it professionally, benefit of having a parking garage to work in.

All my clips seem to have popped off, and all my visors are as strong as ever. The clips never seem to seat properly. Even with the rubbers out of the way. And when you have the clips in there, it's extra labour on the window motors when closing the windows.
Weird design, but my car doesn't have them, but it doesn't seem like a problem.
Also, the factory visors come with the 3M tape on them?
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
You know the 3M tape with the green/white backing? You can rip them like paper and I've found they tend to weaken and rip right off. The grey version acts more like vinyl and becomes like glue over time, that's what I used to reapply the lip spoiler and it's holding on much better than before. I trust the factory adhesive to do a better job as well.
Anyways, sucks that I had to buy a brand new OEM set but I learned a valuable lesson :)
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
The 3m green double sided tape is for pictures and name plates. The red is 5 lb strength (depending on your amount used) they even have 10 lb.
Gotta read that packaging

I picked up some fog lights. I'll be installing them when we get a warmer day.

This week is 3 degrees. It's perfect
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
I changed the turn signal thing, since the stock one didn't have a switch for the fog lights.
Looks like I need to remove the wheel well liners to access the mounts for the fog light, so that'll have to wait.

It's more like an Al and Peggy Buddy relationship....
Peggy - "did you miss me?"

I did my fog lights, this morning. The first one took about half an hour, the second one only took 10 minutes. Looks good :)

Serviced my front brakes today, had a weird squeak when tire spinning and no brakes applied, seems to have gone away.

Also noticed that the oil cooler on top of the oil filter housing looks like it's leaking.

And found out my right rear MOOG link is loose. Time for free lifetime replacement. [emoji1303]

Tried to figure out an intermittent rear view camera issue, seems like the camera. Works fine when warm in shop, doesn't work when cold outside.

And last night going to dinner dashcam started doing this.

So I'm just having ALL the luck with my cameras.

I had a similar issue with a similar looking reverse cam I put in my last car. Got to the point last winter in the cold I disabled reverse cam on the deck. Come warmer spring time I turned it on for kicks and it worked flawlessly until the rear of my car was taken off in October, taking the reverse cam with it.
I think the cheaper ones just don't work in the uber-cold.

Hey, I have the same dash cam and this was happening to me because I initially installed a bad quality USB extension cable (directly soldered behind the cigarette outlet).

I got rid of it and I used the one that came with the camera and it works flawless now. Never rebooted again.

I got rid of all the external plastic and soldered the + and - directly towards the cigarette lighter charger. (I recommend using a fuse)
