My best ever was 8.9L/100km on my 2.5L auto hatch. I usually get in the 9's. It's most probably because I drive a lot in stop and go traffic, I've only had my car for about 4 months or so, it's only been winter driving so far, and let's just say I haven't got the lightest of feet.
09 2.0L, 90% city driving, 12L/100km for the winter, 10L in the summer
If I drive 90% hwy, then its about 8L/100km
Tired pressure @ 36psi
since i bought the car a little over a week ago, ive been averaging 8.9l/100km in my 07 speed3
came from a tdi so i drive pretty efficiently
I've been getting 9.3L/100kms on my 2010 2.0L GX lately.... so dissappointing
I was getting 7.4-7.8L/100kms when i first got my car. Not sure what happened... I've only got 9600kms on it.
Winter gas sucks. :)
I think I am getting roughly 9.0-9.1l/100km

I have a 2010 GS sedan, and getting around 350km/tank. Earlier in this winter i was still getting around 400km/tank. With no change in my driving routine, the fuel economy seems to be declining. Tire pressure also at 34.5 in my all weather tires (recommended 35 as per manual).Quote:

I have the 2.0 and the last tank I had 65x km (with the light on) and filled up. 6.7L/100km :)
I keep the revs below 3k mostly.
yes, 2010 GS is 2.0 lit engine as well and still my fuel economy sucks!
i can't accept the fact 'it's still new' etc. it's been a yr and i have around 8000km on it.
and i dont rev the engine...i hardly see it going over 2.5k rpm (i dont check that part of the odometer that often but whenever i do rarely, it is around 2-2.5)
It depends on how you are driving. Since it is cold, I usually let the car warm up for 15-30 seconds before I start driving it. The car eats through gas when the engine is cold.Quote:

^^ The cold does affect the fuel economy BUT driving slow after a cold start helps improve it. I putter at 45k in 3rd for the first 350m - to the red light, wait there for 40 seconds on average then putter at 55-60 for another 400 metres until I get to the highway. There it's an easy 100 (it's a 90 road), to the 401 where it's ~110 (indicated) about 2950-3050rpm. No quick acceleration, no getting pissed off at others and flooring it to pass them easy does it.
The good part of setting the cruise and putting along in the right lane is I don't have to worry about changing lanes and passing others (I'm not one to sit in the left lane doing 120 when others clearly want to do more).
this is some of the mileage numbers I've been getting with my 2010 GX 2.0L. I am averaging about 9.1L/100kms mostly city. Is this normal for my new car? The best Mileage I've been getting is about 7.3L/100kms 95% hwy driving. I've been very disappointed with these numbers. On my last car I was getting very close to manufacture advertise numbers so I'm a bit taken back why these numbers suck so much. I believe for my car it should be 8.1L/100kms city and 6.0L/100kms hwy. I'm getting nowhere close to this.
I generally keep shift and keep the revs below 3K. the first two weeks of owning this car i got 7.4 and 7.8 L/100kms (city). So i'm not sure what happened.

^^ that's a toughie, and you being a car guy (you have to be to have owned a modded prelude B22!) would already know that your tires are properly inflated, no speedy starts, easy acceleration, coast in gear until just before it bogs down to a red light.....
New car so the air filter's clean..... You got me. Any extra weight in the car? Running fogs all day?
I usually over inflate the tires by about 5PSI to get a slightly more responsive ride... however with my Q Rated winters... I seem to be getting a more skiddish ride. Air filter is clean since it is a brand new car with 11.5K kms on it. Car is mostly empty except for my work computer and gym bag. I keep a breaker bar & small tool kit that fits in the emergency tire compartment.Quote:

I'm itching to put the all-season tires back on. I'm getting tired of the slushy handling from my winter tires. I also assume I will be getting better mileage too due to the lower rolling resistance on all season tires.
I'd be happy to knock a whole 1L off of each 100kms. I'd probably be saving about $5-6/tank. That's translates to about $20-25/month which could be another half tank of gas per month I'd be saving.
Coast IN gear...while coasting in gear and not touching the gas pedal, the ecu shuts off the fuel injectors until they are needed again.Quote:

^^ when you see a red light ahead, just let off the gas and do not hit the clutch (coast in gear) I used to think the same thing - 2000 rpm is faster than idle speed so you use less fuel at idle right? Wrong.
On a related note $54.50 this morning for a bit over 44L :(
2010 GX 5MT Sport with Gislaved NF5 winter rubber. You can see my Fuelly average below but I seem to be getting around 8.5L/100km with mostly city driving. I think this is pretty good considering the car is rated for 8.1L/100km city and I am running winter rubber and winter gas. Tires have been around 34-35PSI and I am quite moderate and steady with regards to driving habits. Should also mention I have the K&N drop in air filter. Tomorrow it is oil change time (12000 kms) and I will be switching over to 100% synthetic 5w20 (penzoil plat) and I am curious to see if that will bring me some fuel savings. Swapping the tranny oil for some synthetic Redline is also on my list of To-Do's.
You can get the mileage out of these cars but only if you drive accordingly

Yeah, i used to coast in neutral to a stop with my civic. Since learning about coasting in gear (and it's a lot safer anyway), that's what I have been doing thus far as long as I'm not geared too low while coasting, and don't let the engine bog down at any point.
Once my cdn tire mastercard 5ct fuel discount runs out on the 14th (resets back to 2ct/L), I'll be trying Shell gas and its supposed no ethanol blend at 91. How come your Amex is giving 3% discount? The Amex at my local costco advertises 2% cashback on fuel purchases.
