I've had intercooler pipes pop off on the highway before, NOT fun. First time was top of 3rd and the hot pipe off the turbo popped straight off and hit the inside of the hood. I thought I threw a rod. LOL. I was able to keep driving (off boost) since the pipe was still in place, just not sealed. Second time was while logging on the 407. The cold pipe off the IC going towards the TB popped right off... I couldn't reach it without dropping the engine cover. Had to limp it back home. I discovered if you keep the rpms low and accelerate VERY slowly, you can drive with a massive leak. Probably wasn't very wise looking back...Quote:
