Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Vacummed my car out before work, wiped down all plastics. Looks a lot better! Now it just needs a wash :(
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
- Replaced 40 month old engine air filter after watching DIY Youtube video. It drives like new now :D
- Vacuumed interior
- Washed Weathertech floor mats
- Wiped down the interior and door jams
- Wiped down the engine bay... still pretty dirty and covered in dirt/sand :(
Tomorrow (hopefully the weather will be like today or better):
- Wash
- Clean rims
- Seal

Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Cleaned it, armor all tires and dash, and fixed rust spots from developing and put in my new weather tech mats that I got in the mail today!
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
Wash and wax, and some detailing to the rims.

i was just reading about this on auto geek. so this is a product to remove iron from the paint so you wash>iron x>clay bar. does using iron x help get a better shine?

You'd definitely want to wash after using Iron X because it stinks to high heaven.
So wash > iron x > wash > clay bar > sealant or wax.
After I tested it on the trunk I noticed it got rid of rail dust on the trunk and rust specs on the Mazda emblem. It turns purple and gets thick and gooey quickly so it's best to wash off after a few minutes.
You get a better shine because it decontaminates and cleans the surface before applying wax or sealant. After using it the area that was a bit rough to the touch was smooth after I applied a quick detailer.

Any tips or tricks for using it?
Got it from eshine but Wisdom Detail carries it or the Wolf deironizer which does the same thing. Tips? Best to use it in a shaded area. A power washer would make it easier to take off if you apply to the whole car (but a power washer is not necessary). If you apply it to a part of the car and wait a few minutes, it's easier to remove without a pressure washer because it's not as thick. Wear dishwashing gloves in case the smell gets on your hands. After using it, it feels like it has taken off the wax layer. Really need to seal or wax after to get that smooth finish (if you choose not to clay bar after the iron x). I am going to try the wash > iron x > wash > clay bar > sealant process but it's going to be one long detail. I have to be patient that day. It's so worth getting the expert decontamination detailers like Hamza and Bryan to do it, but I'd like to give this a try.

Don't forget another wash after your polish. Lol. This sounds like a two day job!! Or at least you'll need a lunch and/or dinner break. Planning on using a machine for the compound and polish? It will be a rewarding project.
Re: What Did You Do To Your Car Today?
