Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
R-comps are the next best thing to the driver mod.
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Changed the oil today and put in 5w50 for the first time. Anyone think it can last to 8000 kms without shearing past 5w30 weight? lol.
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
It could, but what brand of oil are you using?

Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
I just have a quick question regarding HPFP. It seems the common upgrade to the fuel pump is the internals. I can see 2 potential advantages but please correct me if I am way off. 1 advantage is cost, assuming internals cost less than a complete pump, and second, if the car is under warranty, and the pump fails, the dealer is less likely to notice that the pump has been modified? Is there any other benefit to replacing internals only?
Please pardon the ignorance
thank you

the cp-e pumps use the stock core so they are identical. Only thing is there is a cp-e sticker on it which you could take off.
The difference in cost between internals and a cp-e pump is about 400 bucks. You get a lifetime warranty with the cp-e pump.

Syntec.
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
Castrol edge didn't hold up for me very well.
Either way for $25 we can have the oil tested for you before you drain it out to see for sure.
Re: Random MS3 Chat Thread
That would actually be interesting to see. If it holds up then it may be worth it to keep using their 5w50 and do changes at 8000 kms rather than at 5000. It's not like I have a mod heavy car, either. Just FMIC and SF intake.
How would I get the oil sample from my car and who would I give it plus the cash to? I'm going to Montreal next week end then again for the April long week end so 5000 kms will probably add up fast.
