Re: Metal Coaters (Powdercoating Rims)
I'm glad to see Metal Coaters doing some amazing work for you guys! I'm even more impressed that Taj is giving us TM3 guys a discount even tho he is not a forum sponsor! Wow! For the price guys, you really cant go wrong! My MS6 are proof that if you take care of your rims, they last!

Sorry about the quality of pics, I couldn't wait so I took them while it was raining :chuckle
Overall I'm very satisfied with the job done. The curb rashes were gone and the rims look brand new when I came to pick them up. I got some people hatin' on the bronze already :chuckle but idc coz I like them.
Re: Metal Coaters (Powdercoating Rims)
Very nice bro...:thumbsup

Lovin' all of the good reviews of MetalCoaters. I will be bringing my newly acquired rims to him *hopefully* tomorrow. I want bronze, but the style of rim is screaming for the lighter gunmetal.
Can't wait to show them off to you all!
Re: Metal Coaters (Powdercoating Rims)
2nd gen MS3 rims powdercoated Argento by Metal Coaters. There are a few tiny imperfections, but overall love the color and their work. Great price too, paid $280 including clearcoat.

How does powder coat stand up to winter driving?
Re: Metal Coaters (Powdercoating Rims)
Much better than paint. More resistent to impact.
Re: Metal Coaters (Powdercoating Rims)
Great colour choice rsquared. Argento FTW!!
Re: Metal Coaters (Powdercoating Rims)
For the members who have gone to see Taj, did you bring your rims in with the rubber or did you take the rubber off first prior to seeing him?

Take off the rubber and don't forget to take off the centre caps.

Thanks! good to know. I assume it would be a good idea to re-attach the wheel weights after... what do you recommend?

when you get your tires re-mounted, the installer will balance the wheels and re-install any required weights.

Re: Metal Coaters (Powdercoating Rims)
Do they powercoat only or do they refinish too? My RP03s have some scratches and a little bit of curb rash...

From reading this entire thread, it's my understanding that the scratches & curb rash will be smoothed out, you won't see it.

Simply put - they are not a wheel refinisher.
ah, thank you for the clarification
