That is kinda neat. And well done. For $350 I'd say it is a pretty cost effective mod, especially since it is fairly easily reversible should you want to go back to the original colour.

Very nicely done!
I've seen a BMW around with the matte wrap as well and it surely grabs your attention! $350 is really cheap too (because you saved on the labour) and I think we'll start to see more cars being wrapped.
Looks great man, but you need a lip with those skirts...that plus the PK's (when they settle) and you're good to go! :headbang
reeaaaaaaaalllllllyyy want to wrap my car. I priced it out for the exact same thing, only on '06 sedan and it came out to about $2750 :(
looks awesome though!
Really nice job!
I believe Mathieu (SecheMedia) has quoted a lower starting price for wraps. Not saying it won't be that expensive in the end, but did you ask him?
Everytime I check this thread, I start googling matte red vinyl. Then I have to remind myself that I actually love the mica in my red paint.
amazing job on the wrap but i do not think it looks all that great. I think the tail lights need to be clear and not smoked. Not sure if this look fits the 3.
Great job with the DIY wrap! You've got mad skills! Nay to the smoked plasti-dip tails though.
Where did you get them installed? and how much did you pay for the springs and installation?
Looks great. I'm looking to do the same set-up, with the rx-8 rims...still debating my options though. So many. Nice ride!
looks clean!
Well here are a few more pictures I took after I cleaned it... I also Re-did the tail lights.. looked at it again after it was mentioned about the plastidip smoke.... not so good for tinting tails.... I Used a tinted Vinyl and more matte vinyl, still a few bubbles and wrinkles to smooth out with the heat gun though.
Thanks for all positive comments. I do want to Re-do the back section I did use a lot of seams due to not having enough material. However still looks good I think me being an amateur and all.

I was going to ask how it held up in today's heat. Looks like it did really well! I remember wrapping parts of my front lip. It looked SO BAUCE when I finished...and all it took was a few hours in the sun for all my hard work to disappear. Overstretched it.
I also saw a matte black Mercedes the other day who's vinyl wrap was unsticking and pulling in spots due to the heat (the curved part between the tail lamps and bumper end).
Well done dude. Looks rad! Looking forward to pics of the rear whenever/if you decide on redoing it.
looks amazing. i would love to do this to my car as well.
Just curious as to where you got the matte finish film? I wanna do this as well
Whoa vinyl job looks mint and car looks sick in the matte black. Nice job!
looks great
That looks great man! You think vinyl wrapping would slow down rust? If so, I think I might do it! lol
Andrew
Not sure if it would slow down rust I mean no air gets in or water lol..... Cross my fingers
NICE!!! :hawt
Whats the maintenance like, I feel like with canadian weather at matte finish would be too hard to maintain.
saw you on the 407 near dixie yesterday morning around 8:45
It's not hard to maintain at all...dish soap takes all oil off the vinyl keeps it matte. Winded taken bird doo doo off nicely...
No waxing is a time saver that's for sure lol...
Wow, looks amazing, how long did it take you to do the whole car?
Amazing work man! Looks great
looks great. mkaes me want to do a matte silver
I had my roof done professionally i cant imagine doing that myself but you proved you got the skill! Good fallback career, big $ in that industry now-a-days
:worship :D
Got some new speakers last week and threw em in a few days ago. The difference is absolutely incredible.
I previously had JBL628's in all 4 doors and replaced them with FOCAL 165 CA1 in the rears and FOCAL 165 A1 components in the front.
The difference is incredible between the two easily as drastic as stock to the JBL's. All 4 speakers are powered by Alpine MRP-F300.
Just thought Id share a few pics of the install.

looks nice! how long did the install take you?
nice job mazda2010!
it took me about 3 hours.... I kinda had to learn how to take the door panel off lol... I actually made a modification recently. I had an issue with the door lock and it needed to be replaced. While I was at the dealer they removed the speaker and due to all the rain it was covered in water... Im guessing front the window seals. anyway I uses half a baffle for each speaker to act as kind of an umbrella inside the doors. That was the best idea i could think of....
The mechanic at the dealer said that there had been an issue with 2010 -2011 mazda 3's leaking into the doors. apparently the issue has been corrected in the sky active version.
